“05/09/24: The shed arrived in 3 boxes. 1 box was obviously damaged as were some brackets/braces within it. I called customer service at Shelter Logic and they told me to inventory all 3 boxes, write down what's bad and take pics. During inventory I found another box damaged and added a wall panel to the list. Customer Service was very professional and I had the replacement parts within 2 weeks. I mounted the frame to the concrete. The mounting kits was good.
The instructions provide for several sections being pre-assembled to make life easier. Make your life even easier by including the door assemblies. I did these on Thursday and Friday. My son and his friend assisted me with the actual construction of the shed on Saturday and Sunday. Everything was pretty much straight forward by following the instructions. The doors were the only real issue. While the shed is built like a fortress, the doors are pretty flimsy in comparison. They also do not open all the way flat against the front of the shed as I expected. Instead, they rest against the door frame panel edge. This means the wind will cause damage to them unless a means to hold them in place when open is devised. They also needed a lot of work to hang correctly. Slide holes in door support are not long enough, so I had to do some grinding to correct. This is how you are expected to get doors hung properly. Close, but no cigar.
Holes: Many of them are not drilled out in the correct spot. This was only a dozen or so holes, but considering this issue seems to be a trend in the Shelterlogic website, I'd have thought it would be corrected by now. A drill is required as is a center punch for aligning some up properly.
Hardware: Go buy some. The 1/4" long screws are too short for grown men to work with, especially when half of the length is taken up by the plastic washers. We made them all work except for the ridge vents on top of the roof. I bought longer SS screws to attach those. We got tired of fighting with the short ones. We also bought and attached extra hinges for both doors. They still catch the wind but they no longer act like they want to fly away. They also helped get the doors to hang correctly.
Overall I'd rate the shed a 4/5. The price dropped $300 right after I bought mine. Figures. I'll never do this again simply because it took a solid 5 days and honestly is not worth all the effort. It says it has a 15 year warranty. We'll see. If I ever need another one, I'll just have another professionally built metal building put up. It took those guys 7 hours to build my garage.”
