“Wer etwas anderes behauptet hat keine Ahnung. Schauspieler, Bilder, Kostüme, Dialoge, Soundtrack, die Kulisse… diese Filme sind einfach WOW! Absolut Kult und bis heute unübertrefflich.”
“I have been watching Peter Jackson's adaptation of LORD OF THE RINGS since I was in high school, and it gets better and better each time I watch and not including the nostolgia but I would much rather support this than the horrible show that AMAZON just released.Do not support Rings of Power, and just rewatch LOTR Trilogy, and have a new found appreciation for the HOBBIT films, even the animated version from the 70s/80s is amazing in comparison to the Rings of Prophet.”
“Despite the money spent on costumes etc, the writing is so bad with outright contraditions, major cmissions, and modifications of the books that I could not watch it without constant flinching and regrets to see the finest peice of English literature so badly adulterated. They think they did a good job? I think it is an atrocity. Be ready for a painful experience; underwhelming in the extreme I am very sorry to say.”
“This isn't a sequel. It's act two. It is very polished in almost every way.Early in the film, Frodo says he has to take the journey alone. Samwise says, "I know. And I'm going with you." Brilliant. At the end, Frodo tells Samwise that he couldn't have made it this far without him. While the characters are dependent on each other, so is Wood dependent on the superior acting chops of Astin.”
“Just more cinematic manipulation using great names to attempt to create legitimacy. Every gimmick in movie history is used in succession but more expansive. Every one of the litany of PBS cartoon phrases wold have Tolkien twisting in his grave. The theocratic agenda is again propelled on the legacy of great authors who are no longer alive to say no!Any time you see "based on the novel by..." you are looking at calculated deceit.”
“It’s a good fantasy movie but a mediocre adaptation of Tolkien. Too much Hollywood formula and not enough respect for the source material. For example, there’s too much Arwen. It’s not like Tolkien needed another strong female character with Galadriel and Eowyn (although they just had to tweak her too). I thought the entire cast did an excellent job but I think Sean Astin’s portrayal of Samwise is phenomenal. Again the entire cast was wonderful, but Samwise has always been my favorite character in the story and Sean Astin really brought him to life. The scenes are great; the effects spot on. My only complaint is the unnecessary changes to the story, which I assume were done to please the Dark Lord corporate masters.”
