“I really wish I could write an amazing review because until 2 weeks ago I loved this thing. Now, however, it's grinding and feels like it's going to break apart at any moment. I only use it sitting down, but after only a couple of months and proper maintenance, this should not be sounding this way.I will be contacting the company about it and will update my review then.”
“I knew something was wrong when I started to unpack the trainer...carefully. There were loose plastic pieces broken off tumbling in the box. I continued to unpack nonetheless, since the thought of sending this thing back would be a pain. I wanted to at least see if it worked. It works quite well, but has a scrapping noise when I pedal in the forward direction. But it works, it's just that the plastic frame is poor quality plastic....and now I'll have to listen to a scrapping sound.Update 2 days later: I called Stamina, which was very helpful. They thought it may have been damaged in the delivery since there was no problem with the packing. Possibly the box was thrown down, causing damage. TRAKK is very kindly sending me a new one. Looking forward to a unbroken machine since it's great having this under the desk as I work.”
“I love that it is smooth and doesn't make any noise. I am 5' tall and it is so far impossible for me to use it seated but it is great for standing but I hold onto the back of a chair. It is really a lower body workout and have not been able to use it for more that 10 minutes at a time but working up. I know I could use it longer seated. Still working on that. I highly recommend if you need a lower body workout. The quality exceeds my expectations for the price.”
“So I'm a research student and when I got more involved with biological research and working my job as a tutor, I became very sendentary. I knew that I had to get up and move to stay healthy, and this machine helps. You can adjust the resistance to mimic normal walking or walking up a hill or set of stairs, but I use it mainly for cardiovascular health. It counts the rotations as "steps" and it's easy to assemble. I know it's not as beneficial as walking, but if you do it backwards, it burns more calories. Plus, it's small and is easily kept under a desk. Now I don't feel as unhealthy because I'm actually moving around all day (I peddle whenever I feel like I need to).”
“I originally thought it was great. The pieces are sturdy. It uses high-quality parts, but after just one day of use, screws (from the INSIDE, not ones that I assembled) started falling out of the machine. Every couple days, a new piece (like the top of a screw) would fall out from the bottom until one day it stopped working completely. No more tension, no more counting reps, just pedals that go round and round. It was good while it lasted...”
“I use this about a half hour to an hour a day in standing position--works great and is fairly quiet.Cons:-Some of the black plastic grinds with use and leaves a fine black dust beneath the machine-After about six months, the groove that holds in a washer (which in turn holds a pedal in place) wore out, and couldn't be repaired. I'm going to order another one of these to see if it lasts longer, but still, not bad for $90.If I could suggest a product improvement (other than beefing up the pedal hinge lock/washer), it'd be nice to have a back/front light on the little readout, since I'm often using it in the dark and can't see the readout (maybe even harness some power from the peddling to light it constantly or just have a way to light it up momentarily).”
“For the price and what it is, I'm impressed! After about 15 minutes I start sweating, so I think it works. I can do this at my desk which is great. It's a little clunky to move around and the motion isn't quite as big as I expected but for $100 it's more than worth it!”
“I've been pleased with this since I purchased it about a year and a half ago, and only just now broke. I'll probably buy it again because of how much use I got out of it, but I'll purchase TRAKK's extended warranty so it's covered for replacement next time.At 6'1" it's a fairly short stride, which can feel awkward until you get the hang of it.It's a little cumbersome to assemble, but not terrible. It's also pretty squeaky, but not a big deal if you use it in a garage or a dedicated fitness space. Probably wouldn't be ideal under a desk if you intend to use it at your office.”
