I would highly recommend this product. I have chronic pain and I use my heating pad daily. This heating pad covers my entire back, shoulders and back. It also covers my back width ways and around to cover my hips. I am 5 feet 1 inch tall. It has good levels of heat from mild to quite hot. I tried 2 other heating pads on TRAKK before I found this, the right one.

This large heating pad and back and shoulders is very plush, provides full coverage of your back and shoulders and provides even coverage of heat. While the heating pad is large and bulky, that is a big plus because it does cover your entire back. It works great sitting up, but also great lying down. The material is very soft and plush and while you can feel the coils with your fingers, it is not at all noticeable when you are using the pad. There are button clasps to keep the heating pad securely on your shoulders and straps to tie around your waist. It's a simple but effective design. There are 3 heat settings (1-3) on a large remote with big sliding switch which is easy to operate. The manual does state the heat settings range from 45 - 70 degrees Celsius and I was curious about this rating so I measured the heating pad. I set to the highest heat setting and after 5 minutes, it was already reading 35-39 degrees around various spots on the heating pad using my infrared thermometer. I decided to leave it for 30 minutes, because the manual does state to choose the highest setting and warm it up for 30-60 minutes before setting to desired level. After 30 minutes, I was disappointed to see the temperature didn't increase past 40 degrees, despite the rating of 45 degrees on the lowest setting! Thinking that it was my infrared thermometer, I used another no-contact thermometer and was measuring 34 - 37 degrees with this thermometer. I left it for another 30 minutes (1 hour total) and it never went above 40 degrees. I'm not sure if I just got a defective heating pad but I just do think this heating pad is going to reach 70 degrees.Measurements aside, the heat provided by this heating pad was even on the back and around the shoulders. While my wife said there was plenty of warmth provided and was only using the lowest or medium setting, I felt it could have been warmer even at the highest setting. And really, that is my only complaint about this heating pad is it doesn't get nearly as hot as it's stated in the manual.
