I had back surgery in 2010 and live with pain. I've used several TENS Units (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) which also do EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation). EMS uses small electrical pulses that go through electrodes placed on the skin to cause the muscles to contract. This can help relax the muscles and improve circulation, as well as having other benefits. Many use pads that need to be replaced often, so seeing the Noova with the built in electrodes was exciting. I couldn't wait to try it out.The Noova iPRO20 Neck Massager comes in a retail package consisting of the unit, remote control, backup battery for the remote (nice touch!), USB-C charging cable (about 1 meter), 4-way backpad cable, 2 lower-back/alternate-area pads (called Electrode Slices in the manual), small "gift" spray bottle and manual. There is no case/sack in the box, which it really should include. No assembly is needed. The USB-C port has a small rubber cover that stays attached when open, so you won't lose it. It took about 10 minutes to fully charge the unit out-of-the-box and around 40 minutes to recharge after use. Once charged, the unit is ready to go. The manual recommends a 5V/1A or 5V/2A wall charger (not included) and mine is 5V/2.4A.Usage is pretty simple: fill the spray bottle with clean water and spray either the electrodes on the unit or the back of your neck (can also wipe neck with water), place the unit on the back of your neck and hold the power button for a few seconds to turn the unit on -- the electrodes (called Connectors in the manual) should be resting against the skin. Pressing the Mode button on the remote starts the unit transmitting pulses. Each mode starts at a low setting and you are able to increase or decrease the intensity of the pulses, as well as add heat to the electrodes (up to 43C/109F). The manual never names these modes, but one feels like little pricks, another feels like someone tapping up and down your neck and the last like someone kneading the skin -- the illusion of someone massaging is in full effect while using the massager. It is also very comfortable to wear.Using the pads and the neck massage simultaneously doesn't really work. The unit doesn't have enough power to really do both. As well, the pads don't output as well and never have the same intensity as the neck electrodes. While they may be effective for occasionally lite use, it isn't really the focus of this unit. Maybe the company will create alternative electrodes that are more like the built in electrodes on the unit and offer them as an upgrade. The manual recommends 15 minutes of usage at a time. I tried using the unit for longer, but it needed recharging shortly after. The intensity stayed consistent as the battery drained and it didn't take too long to recharge. Since the electrode require water for best effect, longer usage times may be hindered by evaporation anyway.All-in-all, this is a good unit. Most EMS units have wires attached to boxes to work. This is easy to use, compact, portable, discrete and effective. It is quick to put on/take off and can be used while still sitting in your chair or moving around, unlike most EMS units. As a neck massager, it works and works well!

This device has helped me a lot. It offers a variety of settings and runs for about 15 mins at a time. Read the instructions and determine was is best for you. It has helped me reduce tension and expand my range of motion again. It helps with pain and tightness while allowing my body to relax. It's well-made and comfortable to wear. The remote lets you control it without having to take it off to adjust. All of the settings can be used independently or collectively—great value for the item. I use it regularly.

Love it. It takes out the tension in my neck. It would be more relaxing if it moved slower.

I love the heat option for my neck. I also love the pulsing mode how it squeezes my muscles.
