“I was worried when I first received the cushion and felt how stiff it was. However, the heat from your bum and repeated use softens it up. After having it a week, I have used it on my office chair, a chair in an orchestra pit (for two-hour performances), and on a wide wooden chair at my breakfast table. It is broken-in now and I can say it works well for me. I am 5'5'' and 160 lbs. and bought the cushion to see if it would relieve some of the lower-back pain I get when sitting down for extended periods. I guess it helps a little with that, but not sure how much of that is wishful thinking. In any case, I really like it and expect to be using it full time at the office now that the musical I was playing in has ended its run.”
“We just moved across the country and drove from coast to coast. I bought these for the front seats since usually our car seats are uncomfortable after just 2 hours driving. These seat cushions made even an 8 hour car ride far more comfortable for me than a 2 hour one without them. My low back felt better than usual after a long car ride and I had almost no soreness anywhere. The only problem is that the cushions are thick and thus add a fair amount of height. For me I appreciated the extra height and visibility, but my husband couldn't actually use his while driving because he is already a bit tall for that car (Honda Civic) and he felt too close to the ceiling such that visibility was reduced (he is just under 6' tall). It probably would have been fine for him in our Honda CRV though.”
“Bought these for a long car ride. Now I am using one with my office chair. I feel like it is much more supportive in the office environment than in the car. I really really like it though. My back hurts so much less.”
“After getting this, along with the lumbar support for the back of my chair, there is no chair ever as comfortable as is with this one. I carry them to any chair in my house I am sitting on. The only downside is you can't squish it thin and carry it everywhere you go! I do also use it for sitting on my bed. It does seem hard at first, but you have to get used to it. You have to accept that your pain sucks, and it is worth adapting to a big cushion blob on your chair, to end the pain. Give it a few days to break in a bit and you will love it! BTW, I am 5'7, 120 lbs. If you are wondering if it would fit, check the width measurement of it, and you can see how wide it is. I don't know if someone who is wider than the width of the cushion could enjoy it, as your hips/thighs might hang over the edges and would feel weird. The hole in the back seems to be the secret to how this relieves pain, as there is no pressure on the tailbone area when using this. There really isn't any DIY sort of method I can imagine that would work this well. And the lumbar support is also super necessary for sitting at a desk chair! It forces you to sit up with better posture - also takes getting used to if you slouch - but come on people. You can't complain about back pain if you don't accept you need to change how you sit and invest in the "my body is getting old and now I am that person who needs a support cushion and cannot sit in weird positions like I did the first 37 years of my life" cushion. On the plus side, you don't need a fancy new desk chair, because this turns any Ikea crap chair into a super comfortable supportive high-end feeling chair.”
“I've had this for 2 months now, it's always sprung right back up when I get off it for a break. The cushion part does contour to your neither region, it's soft, good in boosting you up an inch or so if you're vertically challenged.I bought this because I was having achy back issues that I shouldn't be having in the first place. My back hasn't hurt since. I got this in combo with their back support pillow which I also enjoy. The only con is that this is expensive... it's $29 dollars...but after all it is your back and your well being so it was worth the spend. If you register the product on their website, I believe they offer limited warranty.”
“I waited a couple of months before writing a review. In all honesty, I was not expecting this cushion to help my sciatic nerve pain because I have a very tricky back with fusions and arthritis. Car rides had become increasingly troublesome for me and was the primary reason I bought this in the first place...I actually ordered it while traveling in the car, in pain, several months ago. The absolute proof positive for me that this cushion was indeed helping, was our 6 hour car ride this Thanksgiving. For the first time in several years I was pain free the entire trip. I turned from a sceptic into a believer. In addition to alleviating pain the car, it has also helped me a great deal around the house while playing the piano and sitting for several hours while sewing.”
“After suffering a while with lumbar radiculopathy (general name for symptoms yet to be identified), sitting down suddenly became comfortable. This cushion is so versatile and works on different seats or chairs. Its a practical solution too rather than investing in expensive furniture besides insuring adaptability out in the world. I plan to tote it around to the library or work place (schools with their miserable contour chairs). Haven't yet tried it in the car due to difficulty just getting into the driver's seat. Hope it works as a meditation cushion alternative!”
“I sat on this for 2 days before it completely flattened out. No support at all. I also got the lumbar support, which was actually pretty good. However I'm returning this because it's unacceptable. For reference I am a woman's size 6, 150lbs.”
