“I purchased this to aid in treating a herniated disc. It works great. With two gel packs, I keep one in the freezer and keep the other with the strap. The packs maintain their temperature for quite a while - a couple of hours at least for the heated pad. The pouch that holds the packs is well-designed to keep the pack in place, and the strap is comfortable and stays put. What a great product. So happy with it that I bought a second for my daughter-in-law, who also suffers from pain in her lower back.”

“This thing is great if you are suffering from a herniated disc. I've only used it for cold and it keeps cold for quite a while. This morning, I put it on around 7:30 before the school run, and showed up at my PT appointment at 9 and it still felt cold. (I know it says to stick to 20 minutes, rules schmules). It's also nice that it comes with two packs, so you've got a cold one ready to go.However, as a word of warning, if you are on the larger end of the spectrum, you may be disappointed. I am very tall and I have to wear this around my hips to get to the right spot, and it makes it around, but when I sit or arrange myself in a contortion to do PT maneuvers, the belt is straining a bit. I wear about a size 18 (US) women's pant, so I'm definitely larger, but you may want to be aware of this if you fall into that category, that this will fit around the section of your torso where you're going to want the ice pack to cover.”
