“I have a herniated disc in my lower back which causes severe sciatica pain all the way into my toes. I've been through PT twice, take over the counter pain meds, and have lost a lot of physical ability from it. I bought this as a last resort to help easily ice my back when I am standing (how I am most comfortable). I have used it 3x a day for the last week and a half and have been happy with it. It came with 2 gel packs and I have never had to use the second. The first pack stays cold for much longer than 20 minutes (maybe an hour?) And it is completely frozen by the next time I use it. The belt itself is comfortable and there is a mesh net the pack slides into that as a velcro closure. I wear a thin shirt with it, anything more and I don't feel it is effective. I have also noticed that I do need to press the cold back into my spine to get the full effect but to me that's not terrible. I am skeptical the velcro on the mesh netting will hold up over constant use but time will tell. It seems as though one of the corners may need to be restitched. The belt is plenty long for me and I am a size 5/S or so. If it were any longer I the velcro would be wrapped across my back.I have not had any leaking as other reviews have but also only use it cold. I would suggest lowering the suggested power and time on your microwave to find the best heating time.”
