“I probably will send this heating pad back. It may be defective. Not sure, not taking a chance. First time it worked perfectly. Got very hot at high setting. After a few minutes reduced heat to medium. Second use, there is a red light at high setting that flashes. You can't stop it from flashing and the unit does not turn on. There is nothing in the instruction booklet about this flashing red light, I.e., is it a warning indicator? Regardless, device will not turn on. Beware of this heating pad.”

After trawling through reviews in search of something meeting my needs, I was incredibly pleased to find this lives up to the hype. An easy button control allows you to cycle through three modes, and will be especially appreciated by elderly or arthritic fingers. The long cord puts the controls in reach without forcing you to sit 12 inches from the nearest socket. Overall the blanket isn't very heavy, making for easy adjustments in placement and no threat of smothering you. That said, it's not a true blanket; it won't flop around your shoulders like a comfortable weighted blanket, and you might have to work a little to get it to settle in place.The heat is obviously the star quality: it's warm without being too hot, toasty on the highest setting without threatening to incinerate you, the bed, or a chair. Direct contact on the skin never feels like it will burn. Neither does this have a very strong smell as some blankets do, but you'll know when it is on. It smells like a fuzzy warm towel or blanket. I've found the highest setting is my favourite, but if you only need mild radiating heat, go for medium or low. They apply a steady and comfortable glow that alleviates discomfort.Mighty Bliss is a solid product. This heating blanket holds up well through use without getting matted, flattened, or electrical components coming free. We're not the gentlest users -- little hands try to curl the blanket around a supervised little body -- and my spouse is a tall person. We've been absolutely thrilled by the overall use and quality, and I will absolutely consider this at the top of the list as a present, be it for Christmas, birthdays, apr�s-ski gifts, or for someone recovering from illness or time in the hospital. “I have recently undergone two knee replacements as well as back surgery. Needless to say a heating pad and cold pack are critical items in my medicine cabinet. “I first purchased my MIGHTY BLISS Large Electric Heating Pad for Back and muscle Pain and I was very happy on how well I felt. No more heating a pad in the microwave.Now I know why my orthopedist recommended heat as well as ice. It's great for getting that stiffness out. That was only my first discovery with my MIGHTY BLISS.Then there was my 78 year old mother visiting and complaining about being cold. I usually get her a heater blower but thought the pad would be a faster way to raise her core body temperature without blankets and heavy clothing. It worked like a charm. In fact so well my mom asked me for the link to order one for herself. It's that great a heating pad. But my favorite use was just discovered recently when we brought our 12 week old puppy, “Poopka', home.. “Originally bought this for my mother's lower back soreness and pain she has been feeling. When I saw this heat pad, I knew that everyone in my family would benefit from it and we have. I love it for when I sleep wrong and end up feeling so achy and my dad does a lot of manual labor so it helps for his strained body.Even if you don't use it for your aches and pain, it's great for the winter cold. My dad loves to hang out in the cold garage and watches movies, so it's something that will warm him up during the more annoying nights.Sometimes you find items with some not-so-genuine reviews and it's hard to really go forward to buying said item but with this I will say that I was never skeptical about buying this heat pad. “I am usually to busy to write reviews, but this product deserves to be recognized. I had surgery two years ago Where I a tumor removed away from my spine. During the surgery, I suffered some major nerve damage, I literally would be in tears if any form of cold weather would touch my back or upper left side. The pain got better, but I still have to use a heating pad at work and sometimes at home for the pain. I saw the Mighty Bliss and thought I would give it a try. I am so glad that I did! This heating pad not only looks nice, but it also works amazing. It reliefs my pain, the heat output is wonderful. You can control the temperature to fit your need. I have had other heating pads, but this one is nicer and it works. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who suffers from nerve pain. “I bought this thing like 2 years ago and feel compelled now to write a review. A) it still works perfectly, 2 years and countless washes later, and B) it helps my back pain.I love using this thing for myself and my aching muscles. But where it really shines, is in the eyes of my cat, Gadget. This thing is a friggin cat magnet. I have formed and solidified a truly unbreakable bond with my cat in the last 2 years thanks in no small part to this heating pad. He friggin loves it. Wherever it goes, he goes, and that's wherever I am.Heat variation is stellar, though my cat, Gadget, prefers the low setting because the others make him overheat and have to go sprawl around cutely on non-heated surfaces to dissipate the warmth. It holds up like a champ in the wash, and i know this, because i've washed it frequently since my smelly cat, the aforementioned Gadget, claimed it.The only thing that could be better is the 2 hour shutoff timer could be extended to 3 hours, so I don't have to reset it as often for my cat, Gadget.Get thing for your back, but especially, for your cat. 10/10 recommended by me and my cat, Gadget, alike.”
