“The cooling pack itself doesn't get very cold at all. It completely melts to room temperature within 5 minutes. I have an ankle injury that requires solid ice pack for 20 minutes. These beads in the pack are cold….not frozen.”

It lets you put the pack directly onto the skin without a T-shirt or towel for skin protection.The size is ideal for my wife's wrist, but on a full size man ankle, it will only treat part way around.This is going to stay chilled in my freezer as we always soon to have need of ice packs.
