“I used this after a surgery, to be able to sleep in a sitting position for two weeks. The firmness prevented me from actually using it to lean back against the seat (too thick, putting my head in a strange position). It was comfortable if I was just sitting normally / awake, and would probably work on a plane. Reclining at all doesn't work.”
