This 6 dual-layer DVD collection from NBC Universal and TMG brings you The Best of the Color Season of Tales of Wells Fargo, 22 episodes rich in western scenery and exciting tales of life in the Old West, is a must for fans new and old, and is great family entertainment. In the rough and tumble Old West before the railroad, making sure the mail, payroll and passengers got through hostile, untamed country by stage coach was a full-time job for Agent Jim Hardie of Wells Fargo. Famed for his skills not only as a detective who was seldom out-witted, Hardie was also known as "the left-handed-gun" for his skill with a Colt .45. For five seasons Hardie traveled the by-ways and outposts of the west safe-guarding the property of his employer, and the lives of the passengers who rode Wells Fargo stages. What could have been just another television western was brought to life in the person of Dale Robertson (Iron Horse, Dynasty), the iconic western actor whose narration and on-camera presence as Agent Jim Hardie gave the Tales of Wells Fargo charm and realism. He was joined week after week by the cream of Hollywood and television actors, in tightly scripted stories of life in the mid 1800s American West. For the sixth and last season, the show expanded to a full hour, in color. Hardie took up residence on his ranch near San Francisco, venturing forth to battle the black hats with his unique style of bringing would-be thieves and varmints to justice. In a departure from the first five seasons, Robertson was joined by a cast of regulars in the color season, including William Demarest (My Three Sons), Jack Ging (The A-Team), and a neighboring widow and her two daughters, who provide a bit of love interest for Agent Hardie! An exciting roster of all-star actors joins in the action, including Phillip Carey and Claude Atkins (The Dodger), Robert Vaughn (Treasure Coach), Iron Eyes Cody (Tanoa), Eddie Albert (A Fistful of Pride), Dean Jones (A Killing in Calico), Morgan Woodward (Trackback), Michael Ansara (Moneyrun), George Kennedy (Assignment in Gloribee), Gloria Talbot (Defiant at the Gate), and Alan Hale, Jr. (The Gold Witch).
