"Well-made, straight-ahead horror. Exceptionally well-written and well-directed." – Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times
Full, crescent, quarter... each is a Bad Moon for Ted Harrison. By day, he's a photojournalist visiting family in the Pacific Northwest. By night, he transfigures into a horrific half-human – a werewolf. Dead men tell no tales, so Ted's sure he alone knows about his vile double life. The secret, however, may be out. The family dog Thor, devoted to defending the household, has his suspicions.
Writer/director Eric Red (Cohen and Tate, Body Parts) delivers a new infusion of thrills with this red blooded shocker. Michael Paré (Streets of Fire) portrays Ted, hiding his accursed condition from his sister (Mariel Hemmingway, Lipstick, Star 80) and nephew (Mason Gamble). What better way to hide it than to create suspicion that the local killings are the work of another – especially if that other is the family's all-too-wise German Shepherd!

Badmoon is a great example of an underated gem. The film is wonderfully shot, greatly acted, and is filled with terrific Steve Johnson effects. Badmoon has got to be one of the bet and smartest werewolf films ever made! The blu-ray is great and loaded with great speacial features! Thanks for revitalizing a personal favorite scream factory!

Bad Moon, I feel, is one of those films a lot of horror fans sorta, kinda mean to get to eventually, maybe. I know it was for me. It came out in the forsaken horror landscape of the 90’s and the reviews have been mixed ever since. It just seemed there were many other films to watch before getting around to Bad Moon. But I can safely say, if you’re a werewolf fan or just creature feature buff, in general, it’s a must. Admittedly, it’s not perfect (the tone seems to go all over the place), but it delivers the goods in gore and werewolf makeup/costume effects. Actually, it’s probably one of my favorite looking werewolves of all time—and you get to see a lot of it. Overall, Bad Moon is small scale, but really fun. And of course, Scream Factory’s release is spot on: transfer is perfect, sound is great, and extras excellent.
