Men's Refuge Pant Black / Small Reviews

4.6 Rating 31 Reviews
Very happy with my purchase for now. Used the pants already 3-4 times under low to moderate rain for around 30-40 minutes each time and no water passed them. Also surprised by their warmth. Only cons, I would have liked them more tight - they are very loose, even wearing other pants underneath.

I bought a pair of these pants for my daily commute in Vancouver. They saw all kinds of rain, and kept me completely dry and the fit was great. I washed them with the suggested detergents and treated them with the suggested product on a regular basis. After two season of commuting, the fabric has now lost all of its water proofing, and isn't even water repellent anymore. It will soak through even in the lightest of showers. I was told that this is to be 'expected' by Showers Pass customer service who offered me a small discount on a new pair if I desired. Again, these pants were fantastic for a couple of seasons, but the longevity just isn't there for a $300+ product. I will be going with something of the Gore-Tex variety for my next pants.

I thought that these Refuge pants would keep me dry for long rides, however, they start to wet through around the 1 hour mark in typical Vancouver winter rains. If I wear a synthetic base layer, they are OK -- I still feel the damp, but not so much that it is cold. Still looking for something that is truly waterproof.

I love my 2 purchases, however I would have liked the jacket to be provided with more pockets on the front. as for the pants, nothing to say. As for the jacket, I plan to use it when the temperature is 10 degrees cesium and below.

I'm 6'2" and the x-large are a perfect length. Have worn them three times as an outer layer in -5C slush and rain...stayed dry and warm.

Recently purchased a new pair to replace existing Refuge pant. The older pant lasted 3 years, which is practically 3 times as long as the competitors model used previously. The new version has a significantly more robust seat reinforcement which is vital for bike use. I commute daily in a rainy climate. This is a high quality, well fitting pant. I highly recommend them irrespective of the high price point.
