“Good quality fittings in a brass plate finish. Oak rail well finished and decently (though not quite perfectly) round. The fitting of the end caps, elbows etc. is, however, very tricky. Drilling pilot holes centrally into end grain oak dowel (for the screws for the plastic connecting plugs) is notoriously difficult to do accurately. A hard plastic drill jig would cost pence, make things so much easier, and save the time I spent on cobbling one together.”
