Found the handrail and brackets of good quality and the finished article looks very good. One small thing that would have helped was a breakdown of all the associated bits and some very simple basic instructions with regard to the fitting of a handrail. Overall though very pleased and would use the company again.

Very pleased with our handrail. The Oak is of very good quality as were all the fittings. We only required 3.8 metres so it was delivered in 2 pieces and each piece was 1.9 metres long - I'm sure some companies would have cut 20 cm off just one piece so this shows their attention to detail. I would recommend this product and would definitely use the company again.

One rail egg shaped, other bent. Weak join system as egg shaped rail doesn’t fit tight into sleeve.

I chose this comparatively expensive handrail as it appeared to be higher quality than most. When I unwrapped it, I was initially delighted but my disappointment grew from then on. The quality of materials scores 4; the rails were not well matched with one being darker and harder than the other, and both were slightly bowed. The fixings score 1; some screws and wall plugs were missing, the screws were undersized and I sheared 3 despite drilling 3mm pilot holes to the full depth of each screw. This problem was solved by using larger screws. The plastic plugs do secure the end caps well but fail to join 2 handrails securely in the joining sleeve. I tried splinting the rails across the sleeve but this made it impossible to check alignment along its length. Eventually, an iterative process was adopted, fixing each wall bracket with 1 screw in turn. This was slow and stressful as I was constantly scared that a screw might shear when being removed and/or reinserted into the wall. The Instructions score 0; there were none and those on the website were inadequate and did not addres the fixing of 2 rails at all. If I had not spent so much time and effort on it, I would have returned this product. With some modifications, better fixings and much better instructions, this could be much improved. For suggestion: 1. Use a sharper/more accurate saw to cut the handrails to length, thus avoiding chips. 2. Mark the centre of each end of the handrails whilst on the lathe to simplify attaching the plastic plugs accurately. 3. Redesign the joining of 2 rails. I would suggest turning down one end of each handrail to be joined so that they fit INSIDE the joining sleeve. This would enable one rail to be fixed accurately to the wall first, then the other slotted into the sleeve, accurately aligned and then fixed.

In this day and age a three and a half week delivery is way to long

Good quality handrail but the joint is very flimsy. Both ends of the rail should either fit inside the joining bracket or the 4 metre rail should come with 5 brackets so that a bracket can be placed directly under the joint.
