“I’ve never owned a Carbon fibre bow. I was very curious to see what it’ll be like to use. Here is my little review on the Schumann Carbon Fibre cello bow:
Once I got the bow in my hand, I noticed the lightness compared to my $80 student bow. You’ll notice the braided carbon fibres, it’s protected by a clear glossy finish (You’ll be able to fingerprints here and there but that’ll come right off when you wipe down the cello bow.) It’s seriously a nice piece of craftsmanship.
When using the bow, I’ve noticed the smoothness, It produces a clear sounds and performing music with dynamics is so much more noticeable. I was surprised to hear more of a mellow sound (which I personally enjoy hearing.) This bow offers you a great responsiveness for players, it’s a real treat while playing (I no longer have to work my right arm as much.)
This is worth the upgrade from your standard student bow. This gives me a piece of mind knowing that I bought Carbon Fibre for it’s durability.
