“Ascente strings are very good value. Although they use a monel alloy winding on the D and G, this seems to be a very good substitute for silver/aluminium and produces good tone (on the A, the usual aluminium is used). Moreover, the strings seem to last well. Recommended as an "economy" but good quality string.”
“I have found these to be better at holding tune which is a bonus not having to adjust them every five minutes they are also a good price and produce a pretty decent sound.”
“These strings replaced a set of cheap strings on an 80 year old violin which was restored using parts from an inexpensive student violin.
They sound much smoother than the old strings & expect further improvements as my skills develop & as better quality parts are installed.”
“Great strings for a student in their 2nd or 3rd year of playing. Competitively priced with other strings of similar quality. These strings didn't take very long to settle which is a bonus for students so they aren't having to battle with an instrument constantly going out of tune. Not warm enough for my tastes for more advanced students, but definitely an option for students still developing their playing skills.”
“These strings produce a lovely mellow sound that's not too dark. The E string is a bit shrill for my taste, but it's still a great value for the price.”
