“As night vision and only night vision it is fantastic. BUT if you are in law enforcement, security, private investigations, close protection or certain tactical areas you're going to learn fast that the company's claim of a "date/time" stamp are hugely substandard. There is no date/time stamp. There is a recording date and time reference in the metadata which can only be seen if you look at EXIF data on a still or use forensics to prove. There is NO OPTION to see date or time on any video recorded. Sionyx customer service is really crap and take the stance that it's not their problem that your evidence isn't admissible in most jurisdictions. The company has no plans to fix this although it's as close to false advertising as one can get without falling over the line. Again, if your a hobbyist, a nightshooter or an illegal stalker this is for you! But if you are legitimate and looking to build a solid case, this unit will disappoint you in the end.”

“The product excels in areas where there is some sort of ambient light. In a dark room you will see nothing, but outside I was quite impressed. When I first unpacked it and charged it up, I was disappointed when I tried walking around the house in the dark. Only in the rooms that had the shades open could I see because of light spilling in from outside. I was ready to send it back. After taking it with me to the woods at night, I changed my tune. The unit performed very well under starry night conditions and the color was a pleasant surprise. Side by side comparison with a PVS 14 and the Aurora held its own. Not the same, but at 1/4 the price worth the money. I am awaiting the illuminator, and then the indoor issue should be taken care of.”

“A lot of marketing fluff on the product but nowhere near the quality or clarity advertised. Was not worth the investment - zoom lacks, hard to focus, image is no better than an our Gen1 gear. Would not recommend this product.”
