“It is a bit pricy compared to other units, but it is of good quality and the light is very powerful. The quick connect / disconnect for the mounting rail has some issues with the springs popping out. However I can still mount the light to the bottom of the camera .”

“The IR illuminator makes a dramatic difference in the effectiveness of the NV capabilities of the Aurora. Using the IR light provides a clear view in very dark conditions that otherwise are grainy and useless with just the Aurora alone. I highly recommend getting this or some IR light to pair with the Aurora, makes it truly see in the dark. Negative here are that the illuminator mount would not stay latched shut no matter how many times I readjusted it so I replaced the mount with another flashlight pic rail mount that I had. Other negative is that the illuminator light is quite large. I have seen other IR lights that are more compact and I think would be as effective.”

“The design of the product is of a sturdy build with a solid attachment to either the weapon or night vision device itself. The quality is good, looking like it would hold up very well in the field. The product is not as bright or the distance of the illuminated field as described. During field testing with the sionyx aurora black night vision device, it was observed that there was there was a limited, clear, observable distance that the device projected. During an almost completely darkened room test with the IR device turned on, a scintilating effect was observed with the night vision device. The cost seems a "bit more" than what some IR devices cost on the current market. Several other IR device companies put a smaller, more powerful product for the same or lesser cost. All and all, this device will as needed but it seems you won't get the range or clarity that has been put forth.”
