Slice® 10408 box cutter blades feature a pointed tip for applications that require piercing to initiate the cut. As with all Slice ceramic safety blades, our 10408 blades are non-sparking, non-magnetic, chemically inert, and safe up to 1600 degrees Celsius. They don’t require any special oil coating and will never rust. Use them with all Slice box cutters, pen cutters, and the Slice Mini Cutter.

they still have some potential to cut skin. But they last a very long time and are very effective.

Thanks so much for leaving your feedback, we appreciate it -- yes, the Auto-Retract 10503 Box Cutter is big by design - our main market is safety and industrial, and best practices dictate nothing should go IN your pocket - it was designed to go OUTSIDE your pocket, per this image here :  https://plus.google.com/+SliceProductsInc/posts/GB65yVK7AY3 - if you do want a smaller tool, we offer several, including the Pen Cutters - available in both manual and auto ( http://www.sliceproducts.com/product/pen-cutter-auto-retractable) and the Mini Cutter (http://www.sliceproducts.com/product/mini-cutter) - perhaps these are better suited for your tasks -- and both have smaller handles (that you can of course put in your pocket if you like :)   A side not on safety - our blades are significantly safer than metal blades, per our website -- also, per our website, no where do we claim you cannot cut yourself with our box cutter blades - they are blades and like all blades should be treated with care.Regarding the Box Cutter you dropped, it sound like the blade cover snapped, which should not happen, so we are sending you a new one today via expedited method - you should have it be end of the week Candace.  We'll also include samples of the Pen Cutter and Mini Cutter in the shipment for you at no charge to test for your applications. For the Safety Cutter, yes, the blade is a micro-blade -- less then 1/2 mm in depth, so actually this one you CAN put in your pocket because it's a micro-blade - completely safe for your pocket, and you can bring it on an airplane since there is no actual blade, just a microscopic piece of ceramic - hope that helps clarify :)   We do include a key-ring hole on the Safety Cutter so you can loop it, put it on a key-chain, anything that's convenient for you :) Thanks so much Candace and have a great week! // TEAM SLICE //
