The Slice® Super-Safe™ Carton Opener is a unique knife with a design that’s ideal for those with dexterity issues or anyone wearing work gloves. Its large, circular handle fits comfortably in the palm for straight, flush cuts. Press the orange button with an index finger to unlock the blade guard. Then, press the tool down, flush, onto the cutting surface and pull to make the cut. Once the 10477 is no longer held against the cutting surface, its blade guard redeploys, keeping the user safe in the event of a slip. As with all Slice tools, the Super-Safe™ Carton Opener features a finger-friendly® blade that’s safe to the touch, cuts effectively, and lasts up to 11 times longer than comparable steel blades. The installed rounded-tip blade (10526) can also be replaced with an optional pointed-tip blade (10528) for materials that require puncturing to initiate the cut.

“5 stars for safety, but it loses one in that it's not 100% comfortable in my small arthritic hands. It works left- and right-handed, cuts through boxes easily, and the blade cover keeps the blade from cutting anything else once it comes off of the box. It's a good, solid design, but could potentially use a slight ergonomic tweak for smaller and/or arthritic hands.”

Slice #10477 Super-Safe Carton Cutter and Slice #10400 Manual Box Cutter are both fitted with the #10404 box cutter blade and I would recommend for arthritic hands, the Manual Box Cutter would be better suited. While the Super-Safe Carton Cutter will fit into the palm of your hands, our Manual Box Cutter minimizes muscular effort and wrist strain when cutting through materials due to its ergonomic hook design! // TEAM SLICE // Miami, Florida
