I've used long-blade box cutter type knives for many years, but one thing they were never really good for is cutting boxes down. Well, they can be but the metal blades just become really dull in a very short amount of time. However, not too long ago I stumbled upon a long-blade box cutter type knife made by Steelite, that came with actual ceramic long-blades and I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the ceramic blades worked WAY better than the metal blades and lasted a whole lot longer when cutting cardboard. Unfortunately though, the Steelite long-blade knife had come with 2 ceramic blades and for some unknown reason the company that made the long-blade box cutter, didn't sell any replacement ceramic blades at all. So I found some generic ceramic blades for it and they were terrible! They would snap after only minutes of use. Enter, Slice's Manual Industrial Knife. This thing puts every long-blade box cutter type box cutter that I've ever used to shame. It uses it's own unique ceramic blades that are only made by Slice, but at least replacement blades are available for it. One of my favorite things about this knife is how the blades are put in and taken out. All I have to do is hold a button on the back and just pull the blade out of the front of the knife. And then to put a new one in I just hold down that same button and shove the new blade into the front of the knife. The way that Slice has made this knife though, it's capable of doing something that I've never seen one of these types of knives do in the 20+ years that I've used them. I can simply put a new blade in upside down and it becomes a lefty knife! Besides ALL of that, you can just tell when you get something from Slice, that this is a brand to keep an eye on. For good reasons of course.

I am a safety coordinator and these blades are safer and lasts longer than the metal blades. I will keep pushing the company I work for to change to ceramic blades! Safer is better than cheaper

A good replacement for a metal knife and can be used to cut cardboard, soft plastics and rubber. It has a blunt nose so its safer. If you need something sharper and don't have safety concerns there are other blades for this
