Perfect Pair Bundle: SlumberTot and SlumberPod with Fan Reviews

3.8 Rating 6 Reviews
I recently tried out the Slumbertot, and I have to say it works like a charm! Setting it up was a breeze, but be prepared for the loud air pump—it’s quite a racket! Now, onto the SlumberPod: I was really excited until I noticed a very overpowering chemical smell. It’s incredibly strong, and I can't help but worry about my child breathing it in. We left it out to air out for quite a while, but unfortunately, that didn’t seem to help at all. In my eagerness, I purchased it a month ahead of our family trip, which turned out to be a mistake since I missed the return window by the time we set it up. Then there’s the SlumberCalm—initially, it worked wonders for a few nights, but then the buttons started caving in! Now it’s stuck on just one sound, which is incredibly frustrating. I don’t usually write reviews, but given the price and my concern for my child’s health, I felt compelled to share my experience. I hope this information helps someone else out there!

I rated low, but I would probably still recommend this to the right kind of person… Mostly because an alternative option doesn’t seem to exist. I think the engineering quality for the cost of the product is disappointing. The blackout cloth is nice, but the slips for the tent poles and several other components feel cheap. The process for setting up the tent is clunky and becomes a long process when traveling, especially in tight spaces. The pump that comes with the system is also very cheap. I’ve travelled now several times with this, and it’s worked out other than the frustrating process of set up. However, I’m skeptical about the durability.

The bed was easy to inflate as well as the base. Our girl who is almost three is quite tall so not sure how much longer she will be able to use the SlumberPod. It states that is for kids 2-5 years or age, however our kid is tall. The pod it self is not too dificult to assemble once you get use to it. Everything worked well with the exception of a few things. 1. It get rather warm inside the pod even with a fan in place and with the zipper door halfway open. The ventilation inside is poor, even with the bottom and upper flaps open. 2. Where the motinor is place, the disigne of the "pocket" does not allow for the camera to remain in place. The camera moves whenever the toddler moves. I was able to make it stay using some clips to hold the camera in place. 3. The location where the fan is mounted is covered, how is fresh air suppose to circulate when the back of the fan is covered... again, i had to rig the opening with clips in order to not cover the fan so that fresh air can circulate inside the pod rather than recirculate warm air. We used it this weekend since we took a short weekend family tripped and overall i think it worked well. The real test will be in a few weeks once we go to the beach for a whole week. Again, I know will have to rig the waay the camera is mounted as well as the cover for the fan.

We ordered for an upcoming trip in May. It set up quickly and easily. My daughter enjoyed playing in it once it was set up. The pod truly does block out the light. Can't say how it works overnight as we haven't tried it. But so far it's great!
