Leo’s Loo Too Covered Automatic Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box Reviews

4.7 Rating 50 Reviews
What a great-looking litter box! The instructions were easy to follow and getting it connected was a breeze. It has made my life so much easier and I'm pretty sure the cats enjoy always having a clean place to do their business. I'm glad I waited for this new model as the poop tray is so much bigger.

We researched for quite some time to find the perfect self-cleaning litter box. This is the first one that our cat (4 years old) has used, so we were a little worried about how she would do. She loves it! No issues at all. Additionally, I love that the smell has been reduced, there is little mess. and it is easy to clean. From looking at videos and directions, the second model of the Leo's Loo seems to be improved in that regard, so I'm glad we opted for the newer model, even though the delivery was pretty significantly delayed and communication/customer service could have been improved regarding that fact. Nonetheless, we are happy with the purchase. So far, one liner bag lasts about 2 weeks with our single cat.

Our first kitten is just 2lb and the loo doesn’t sense every use, but we’re hoping as she gains weight that will correct. No odor!

I researched all of the robot litter boxes I could find before deciding on Leo’s Loo Too. I chose it because of the larger waste drawer and the iv sterilization, and the overall design. It came assembled and basically ready to use out of the box. It is very quiet, easy to take apart to clean, and most importantly it is very safe! It immediately stops a cleaning cycle if it senses movement in the box of any kind. The ease draw traps odor well. I have multiple rescue cats and both large (Maine coon) and small cats use it. Not everyone is a fan, but I have multiple litter boxes around the house anyway so it is not a big deal. I would eventually like to replace them all with Leo’s Loo Too. I have friends who own another brand and they have had multiple issues with litter falling out during cleaning and even had a cat chew through a power cord. Leos loo had a very sturdy cord and I have not had any little come close to falling onto the floor while cleaning. I do recommend testing the box after adding litter because I had added too much and a good bit went into the waste tray when I did a test cycle. Heavier litter works the best and helps to reduce any litter waste. I have 3 cats using this one box and in the few weeks I’ve had it I’ve only had to empty it 3 times and add a small amount of litter back each time. Overall I highly recommend this box, and it does come with a 90 day trial if you want some time to test it. I hope to purchase a few more as my budget allows.

I bought three of these bad boys when Smarty Pear was running their holiday bundle special as a housewarming gift to myself. I have 7 cats who were using 4 large standard litter pans, and I was sick and tired of scooping multiple times per day to keep the boxes clean and the cats happy. I decided to hop on the automatic litter box train and began extensive research for months on which brand I wanted to buy. I decided on Leo's Loo Too and boy am I glad I did. Leo's Loo Too is not perfect, but I have no regrets and I do recommend this product. Below I will list its pros and cons, and then I will list why I went with the Too instead of the original model. PROS: -NO MORE SCOOPING!! Obviously, this is the biggest reason. Scooping sucks, and now cleaning the litter box is as easy as taking out the trash. -FEWER LITTER BOXES. The rule of thumb is one box per cat plus an extra. I did not want 8 litter boxes spread out around my home, so I just got 4 big standard litter pans and religiously scooped 2-3 times per day, hence me getting sick of scooping for 7 cats. With Leo's Loo Too, it's easier to have fewer litter boxes in the home. -SUPER EASY SETUP. Leo's Loo Too took literally 5 minutes to set up when it arrived. Pop it out of the box, make sure the globe is in place and secure, put a bag in the drawer, plug in, and turn it on, you're good to go. -APP CONNECTIVITY. Easy to use app is very user-friendly. It will let you know your kitties' weights, though not perfectly (see cons below). And, you can choose how you'd like your Leo's Loo Too to run. You can set it to automatically spin anywhere from 6 seconds to 20 minutes after it senses your cat leaving the box. OR you can have it spin at certain times of the day. OR you can just manually tap the "clean" circle on your app and it'll spin right then and there. Lots of options, great app. -CUTE. Yes, Leo's Loo Too looks super and yes I got one of each pink, blue, and green. Probably the most aesthetic-looking automatic litter box on the market. -RELIABLE. I have had a few technical issues here and there, but very minor in the grand scheme of things. So far, the box has proven to be very reliable, which is not something that can be said for other automatic litter boxes out there. -QUIET. The Leo's Loo Too is significantly quieter than another leading brand of automatic litter box I was looking at. This made it easier for my cats to acclimate to it, since it wasn't loud and scary. -GREAT FOR SMALL CATS. The minimum weight a cat must be to use Leo's Loo Too is 2lbs, and since I have 3 kittens, that's good news for me lol. -ALL MY CATS USE IT!! That's right, all 7. I have 3 kittens, a 3 year old, two 5 year olds, and a 16 year old. They all acclimated to it easily and quickly. I'm very pleased. -FABULOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. All of my emails sent to Smarty Pear have been answered quickly and thoroughly. I'm very impressed with their customer service. -BUNDLE. The bundle was a nice touch. It came with litter-catching mats, which are useful, toys that my cats love to play with, and a couple of months' worth of waste bags. CONS: -YOU HAVE TO USE CLAY LITTER. I hate clay litter. Like really, really hate it. I used wood pellets for years. They're cheap, super low tracking, not as harmful to the environment (compared to clay), and are the best at odor control in my opinion. I was honestly so bummed that I had to switch to clay. Clay tracks like crazy, and yes, it does track with Leo's Loo Too. I do have 7 cats so I recognize that tracking will be more noticeable for me anyway, but I mean come on! Using pellets, it never tracked as badly as it does with clay with 7 cats. Also, I find the odor control with clay is not that great either. Thank goodness for robot vacuum cleaners or I would go insane vacuuming up all the tracking. I've used 3 different types of clumping clay, and am currently using Scoop Away, which is the brand Smarty Pear recommends. -THE APP GETS WEIGHTS WRONG. Sometimes it's not as accurate as it could be, but I can usually tell who is who given the ranges of the weights. And yes, I've put Leo's Loo Too on hardwood floors. Well, one of them is in my den which is carpeted, but it's the one they use the least often. I don't think the weights displayed on that one are accurate at all so I don't go by those. -ODOR CONTROL IS NOT AS GOOD AS IT COULD/SHOULD BE. And this point goes beyond the clay litter I mentioned above. I empty the drawer every day, give the inside of the globe a quick swipe with an anti-bacterial cleansing wipe, use Roco and Roxy litter box odor deodorizer, and use air-purifying charcoal sacks, and I can still smell waste. I think because I wipe the globe and use the litter box deodorizer, it's more the drawer that smells and less the globe. So I think those charcoal sacks are useless. I'm experimenting with other methods of odor control. Next on my list is my own mix of baking soda and Seventh Generation laundry sheets. I'll let everyone know how that goes lol. -EXPENSIVE. I honestly think Leo's Loo Too is over-priced. The regular price is $650 and I would never pay that. I bought it when it was $100 off, and even that was a bit too pricey for me. I think it should be more in the $350-450 range. -HARD TO DEEP CLEAN. I really wish I could press a button and it would empty all the old litter down into the waste drawer. But no, you actually have to take the whole globe out and dump the old litter out. What a pain. Also, getting in there with a wipe and deep cleaning is not very comfortable. I do it about once a month, and I hate every minute of it lol. I wish it was easier. REASONS I WENT WITH LEO'S LOO TOO OVER THE ORIGINAL MODEL: -Larger waste drawer (huge plus because I have 7 cats). -No waste bag clips needed with the Too. -UV sanitizing on the Too was a plus for me. -Looks more aesthetic and more color options. -App connectivity. MY ADVICE: -I clean out the waste drawer every day. I can sometimes fudge it an extra day or so, but I still take it out daily just because I don't like the thought of waste just sitting in a drawer in my house lol take that s*** outta here! I know Smarty Pear says it can go a few days to a week before it needs emptying (obviously not with me because I have 7, but maybe in a 1 to 2 cat household it can go that long). But still, I just don't want waste sitting in my house. -I do believe there is a way to make it completely odor-free. I just haven't found it yet. I'm experimenting! You may have to as well. Overall, I highly recommend Leo's Loo Too! Take the leap. It's been a great addition to our furry clan and they all seem to like it as well. Thank you Smarty Pear!

I have two cats so I normally had to scoop the litter box pretty frequently. I kept it in the bathroom because the cats flung litter everywhere, but I was self-conscious about it when I had guests over because it's almost impossible to hide the litter box smell. I decided to give this a try and I am sold. One of my cats is VERY picky about the litter and litter box, so I was nervous she wasn't going to use it. Happy to say that both my cats use it without issue. I was about to move it to the bedroom because there's very little litter that makes it outside the litter box. There's no smell at all and it is surprisingly quiet. My cats aren't a huge fan of the sound, but I can set the cleaning to happen a couple of minutes after they're done so they aren't super close to the box anymore. The ONLY downside is that it is massive, but I knew it would be big when I bought it. Overall, super happy with it!

I have 5 cats and they didn't care at all about the toys. I'm not sure the Loo is big enough for our Mainecoon but the other cats use it just fine. Litter mat works well. The Loo itself works great. Customer service is wonderful. I would 100% recommend the Loo Too.
