“Slightly to my surprise the new dog, an 18 week old Jack Russell took to the bed very quickly and seems to like it. So the main aim has been achieved.
It’s too early to be able to comment on durability but it seems well made and easy to clean.
I have three mild concerns that may prove unfounded. The bed is very lightweight so it doesn’t feel very stable. It’s on top of another bed at present which feels as though it supports the bed better than a hard floor would. Part of the roof is not lined so feels a bit more flexible and I wonder if the bed could tip if the dog slipped off the cushion and ended up being supported by this bit of the “roof”. It hasn’t happened but feels like it might. Finally, the stiff arched edge to the roof means that it can fold backwards. I think that could cured by a small triangle of stretchy material either side of the arch so that the arch always leans forward. When it folds backwards there is no “Cozy Cave”!
But as I said, the dog likes her bed so what do I know?”
