The litmus paper test is whether untrained staff such as teaching assistants working with pupils are able to understand and use the resource with learners independently and this has definitely been the case because it is so easy to follow and relates directly to Soundbop.
It is also remarkable that we have been using exactly the same idea of relating tones and sequencing of notes so that familiar pieces of music can be played using colours. It was therefore a very easy step to introduce students to the idea that this was how music could be performed and improved access very early on for students to experience a successful conclusion in a short amount of time. This helps to engage learners far more and can also be developed to create bespoke pieces of music. It could also be used to enable students to create original compositions.”
