“It works well but I wish the pulse rate was visible on the watch as your turn the dial instead of needing to pair it with a smart phone to see the pulse rate. That is a big disadvantage. Often I go back to a metronome because I do not want to dig my phone out to pair it. For the price, I would expect better than this. Other than this one big flaw, it works as advertised.”
“The rist band is a little bit of a problem to tighten...I understand it is because of plastic, but I think if you find software plastic, it'll be better.”
“I've been using the Soundbrenner Pulse for several weeks now, primarily for my guitar and piano practice sessions. There's a lot to love about this nifty device.
The concept of a vibrating metronome that you can wear is brilliant. It allows you to internalize the tempo in a more physical way than traditional metronomes. This has been especially helpful for me in mastering tricky rhythms and keeping a steady pace without the annoying click sound.
The build quality is solid, and the device feels comfortable to wear. I also appreciate its versatility – being able to wear it on different parts of the body is a plus. The app integration is smooth and offers some useful features, like customizing rhythms and setting up setlists.
However, it's not all perfect. The biggest issue I've encountered is the synchronization when using multiple devices in a band setting. It can be a bit finicky, requiring some patience and practice to get right. Also, while the vibration strength is adjustable, I found it needs a bit more power at times, especially when playing louder instruments.
Overall, the Soundbrenner Pulse is a valuable tool for any musician looking to improve their timing and rhythm. It's innovative and mostly delivers on its promises, but be prepared for a bit of a learning curve and some minor limitations. Hence, it earns a solid 4 stars from me.”
“Took me a bit to get used to it. The tap tempo feature is super intuitive - just tap and the tempo sets itself, which is cool, also it's not only for the wrist; I've tried it on my arm and ankle too. It's light and the battery can handle a long practice session. Definitely worth the $”
“Love it, used to use the app to practice but this is waaaaaay better. Takes a little bit of time to get used to but once it clicks it's fucking awesome.”
