“This is a magnificent guitar in a reasonable price range. The single coil P90 pickup at the neck and Humbucker at the bridge give it great versatility. The first few weeks of playing this guitar have made me appreciate what a job Yamaha have done in producing them. At the moment I can't quite work out whether it's the wood or the pickups but it's got a sound quality that is really pure and a bit special. I don't want to speak too soon but the build quality seems as good as guitars four times the price by some other companies(nameless). I'm using it with 10 gauge strings and it's perfect fro those. I can't say what it would be like if you use 9s or if you are a gorilla and use 13s. It doesn't matter what style you play, I'd recommend going to a shop and trying one out. You'll love it. Also have a look at Soren Anderson's review of them on YouTube or watch Bireli Lagrene using one with his jazz quintet when he's not playing Gypsy jazz.”
