“I was a little concerned when this product arrived as the seal according to Hunter is two parts. One soft (this item) and one hard. They fit together creating the seal. Well this seems like only the soft portion. However, after replacing and using the old hard one it worked out just fine. Unsure what this is all about but it s not the soft and hard pair that hunter use just the soft portion. Satisfied overall.”
Thanks for your review. Yes, that part is still causing confusion for some customers. Hunter used to sell this as a two piece kit, but they've stopped selling the hard rubber piece, stating that piece never goes bad and there's no reason to replace it. I'm glad it all worked out. “I ordered 12 riser seals 2 weeks ago only to have the spring seats arrive 5 days later.. I emailed a message about the mistake and after sending pictures of what I received I received an email telling me it was the wrong item and the right ones would be sent. I have not gotten the right seals or have heard from anyone on the status of this order. In the meantime I found what I needed elsewhere.”
Hi Marc, thanks for your review. After double checking with the warehouse, we determined that you did receive the right item. I had left you a phone message letting you know that and asking you to call me back so that we could try to figure out what part it was that you were looking for. My apologies, I should have followed up via email as well but thought we could avoid going back and forth via email if we had a quick call on the phone. Regardless, I'm going to just credit you back in full for this order. ~ Denny Customer Service Manager
“Exactly what I needed to fix my leaking sprinkler heads. Fairly easy to replace, although unscrewing the top on the sprinkler heads was a little tough as they have been in the ground for the past 14 years. I think with a newer system you could probably make this repair with the heads still attached and in the ground, but if your system is older, you'll probably have to remove the head to get enough purchase on the main body to unscrew the top cap. Once you have access, the process of removing & replacing this seal is easy!”
