“Every recipe uses her spice blends. The ad says the cookbook lists substitutions for the blends, BUT... it lists 3 spices "and other spices." It doesn't give proportions. So basically the recipes are useless unless you buy her very expensive spices. Also, the recipes are not in any category, just a random order. There's an index in the front that lists recipes in categories with page number. Poorly done. I returned it.”
Hi Phyllis and thanks so much for your review (and for your email). As we discussed, we do clearly state in the description that our cookbook and products go hand-in-hand to make the recipes flavorfully perfect and consistent every time. And no, we can't provide ratios because for the amounts used, it would not always correlate and never be "right" so we just can't take the risk with the potential of ruining your recipes. Regarding the order- we also clearly say in the intro letter to the cookbook that they are put that way on purpose. Cookbooks are highly personal, as are recipes and we want our users to organize them in the fashion that works best for their kitchens. Some prefer to organize by protein, others by genre, and others by spices. We do not assume to know what is best for you :). That being said, we do have a money back guarantee on the cookbook. Please just follow the instructions on the returns page and we will gladly take it back. If you do return it, we would love to have you keep all the spice samples and extra goodies that came with your package as our gift. Happy cooking and best wishes on program.
“After printing several recipes from the website, I decided to order the cookbook. It did not disappoint! Although Stacey lists her special spices as ingredients, she does provide access to substitutions, so you can still make the meals as intended. These dishes are so good and we are fast building a list of new family favorites! These have been THE answer to what to eat when following the lean and green portion of the Optavia weight loss program! The only thing I am missing are pictures of the dishes.”
