“I have so many Stacey Hawkins Seasonings that it takes a while before I've used any one of the newer ones sufficiently to write a review. Our goto SH seasonings have always been Garlic Gusto, Dash of Desperation, and Tuscan Fantasy. We still haven't yet figured out the best use for Brightening Blend, to tell you the truth, but Skinny Scampi has definitely found a home in our kitchen for SHRIMP, on which it adds a perfectly matched set of delicious flavors!”
Thanks so much for the great compliments JW! You can get really creative with the brightening blend- anywhere you want a pop of lemon- on fish, potatoes, in salads, soups (try adding a pinch to any chicken soup- sounds crazy, but trust us!) You can also add it to fruits, smoothies and shakes to make the fruity flavor really pop. It’s also great added to water with a few drops of stevia for a great lemony refreshing drink. Have fun! Oh… and try it on the shrimp WITH the scampi too! Just a pinch… a little goes a long way.
“The Skinny Scampi and all SH seasonings we've tried have added nice spice to our meals.
I just wish the containers had shaker tops for dispensing them. Please consider adding. After all, I've got spices that cost $2 that come in shaker containers, so $9 spices can too.”
Hi Chris and thanks for your comment. To be honest, we’ve gone back and forth over the years with this issue and honestly, because of the mixed nature of the products, shaker tops actually pose a problem. Using them with the mixed spices (like the garlic gusto) keeps the greens in and only lets the smaller spices out. With the more grainy spices (like the Dash of Desperation) too much comes out at once. We have now intentionally chosen the functionality of an open top so people can use them as they best see fit. Regarding pricing, we refuse to package in plastic shakers or glass containers as they are detrimental to the delicate spices inside. With the quality of what we put in, we don’t want it ruined. Thanks again and happy cooking!
