Kenneth, Thanks so much for your review! Since you didn't buy your burner system, it's hard for us to know if it's compatible with fire glass. Not all fire pit burners are. I'm guessing you're on propane gas? If so, it's very possible that your burner may be causing the soot buildup on the fire glass. This may or may not be correctable based on the type of burner you have. The fire glass is turning black from the carbon in the flame and likely not enough oxygen mixing with the propane prior to combustion. Happy to explain further if you'd like to give us a call.
