“The outside of the box but has bulges on it, i.e., it is not round! Had to grind the 'bulges' on the outside off to get it to fit through a 4" hole , after using a 4 1/8" hole saw[which actually gives a 4" hole]. Once done then had a flush fit of box to mounting surface. If I had used a larger hole saw the hole would be larger than the base plate which would have looked terrible! Could have used your 6" base plate but that would cost more money. Then had to screw plugs into holes from inside of box to seal it because grinding ruined the threads! Just make them round and it would be great and simplify installation. Two more to grind down to complete installation for other lights.”
