Being given a second chance can make you look at life a bit differently. If your doctor has recommended a low dose aspirin, you may have been told about the benefits of Cartia®.
Uncoated low dose aspirin is generally released in the stomach where it may cause irritation to the stomach lining and may also increase the risk of gastrointestinal ulcers.
Luckily, not all low dose aspirins are the same.
Cartia (Aust R 192506) has a specially formulated Duentric coating, that prevents the aspirin from being released in the stomach. Instead, the aspirin dissolves lower down in the intestines – which means less contact with the stomach lining and less risk of irritation.
Cartia tablets do not contain sugar, gluten, yeast, soy, lactose and preservatives.
Cartia tablets are Australian made.
Taking Cartia
If your doctor has prescribed Cartia, it’s important to take Cartia at the same time every day.
Cartia comes in handy calendar blister packs to help you keep track of the days.

How to take Cartia
The recommended dose is one Cartia 100 mg low dose aspirin tablet taken at the same time every day.
Take Cartia with a glass of water. Cartia should be swallowed whole, without crushing, chewing or breaking the tablet.
Cartia can be taken with or without food. Food does not alter the effects of low dose aspirin.

If you forget
If you forget a dose of Cartia, take it as soon as you remember.  However, if the next dose is due within 12 hours, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the normal time.
Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you have missed.
