Build quality does leave a little to be desired but overall it is a great little blaster!
Here is a few recommendations based on my experience with this blaster:
First thing you should do before assembling this blaster is remove all the picatinny rails and apply some adhesive before refitting.
Fitting of picatinny accessories, even the sight that comes in the box, results in excessive movement when fastened all the way unless you adhere these rails!
Metal ones would be better but this is a budget blaster so I'm offering budget solutions.
I used hot glue and it worked very well!
The sight that comes with it is absolute trash.
Mine had a scratched lens when I opened the box for the first time. The holo reticle is very dim and the mounting solution on the receiver picatinny is quite poor. It is just a screw with a thumb wheel. Feels like it is very easy to over tighten and damage, and the sight hinders rather than enhances the experience of shooting this blaster.
Do yourself a favour and spend $35 bucks on a budget yet very real holo sight rather than your bucket of KFC this week and you'll be amazed at the difference a real sight can make.
Get a hopup!
Not the "TacToys M4A1 V8 Hopup!!
Get an adjustable one.
The TacToys one is ok at best. The 3d printing really benefits from some carefully used needle files to smooth the material.
Before and after smoothing had identical results, balls travel an average of 2mn further than without it and the lack of any adjustment means you can't induce any more backspin.
Get one with grub screw adjustment!
If you want a foregrip get an angled one!
Ergonomics are crucial on any weapons platform INCLUDING Gel Ball Blasters!
The angled foregrips are far superior to the vertical and vertical folding grips for 3 reasons.
1) They make your forward hand sit in a much more natural and comfortable position than a vertical one,
2) They are compact! This means that they don't need to be removed to fit your blaster in an eBay rifle bag
3) Their mount covers about 3 times the surface area on the picatinny rail making them a much more stable solution.
Stable foregrip makes for tighter groupings/improved accuracy.
Don't forget to get extra batteries and mags!
For shorter sessions, get 1 extra battery and 2 extra mags.
For longer sessions, get 2 extra batteries and 3 extra mags.
*minimum*
It's the worst thing in the world when you're on a field and youve got a single battery and it goes dead or you're co stantly having to refill your only mag with your speed loader every time you're empty.
In both these situations, you will almost certainly be shot, probably alot and it's back to spawn for you to chill til you can reload or someone nice lends you a battery!
Speaking of speed loaders.... get one!
The little bottle in the box is practically useless and whilst you can fit a few gels in there, a $10 speed loader fits ALOT more and keeps you in the fight longer!
As with any blaster that comes with gels.... by all means, grow them and shoot your little sister with them but don't show up to the field and expect people to call their hits using them.
Milky white hardened and orange hardened go through this blaster nicely!
The glasses in this kit are terrible as well. Mine had an edge on them that dug into the bridge of my nose and were very uncomfortable.
Bunnings has significantly better options under 10 bucks!
