“I had three pairs of glasses made by Tajima in the last three months. It has been quite the journey. I ordered lenses for my rimless, drilled regular glasses and new lenses for a brand-new pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. After ordering I developed a problem with double vision. I had sent in the sunglasses first, thinking I could use them while they made my regular glasses.
I got the sunglasses but the double vision made them useless. This is usually where things break down. Tajima made the lenses according to spec and had every righjt to say we did our job and this is not our problem. This is where you find out what kind of company you are dealing with.
Fortunately, Tajima responded with exemplary customer service. I went to a specialist and resolved the issue with a new Prism prescription. I sent both pair in with the new prescription and received them today.
They remade the sunglasses for me at a huge discount and made new lenses for my regular glasses. They are absolutely perfect. The workmanship is astonishing.
My only nit is that the turnaround time is 3-4 weeks. In the end it was totally worth the wait.
We all know how great it is when you find a great plumber, electrician, doctor or mechanic. Finding Tajima is like that.
