“So I'm a fugitive recovery agent and recently I just had to use my Taser Pulse on a fugitive. I ordered mine through my business and not here; but figured I'd come leave a review on here.So recently we went to go pick a gentleman up. We knew where he was at, when my partner and I walked in we got him surrounded and he tried to run, we caught him but it turned into a fight. So I pulled out my taser pulse and pulled the trigger. The prongs went through an extremely thick sweatshirt and made GREAT CONTACT.It instantly took the right right out of him, he was down and we were able to handcuff him and get him in custody without any further incident. I actually shut the unit off after about 8 seconds. Definitely did not need the full 30 seconds”
“I bought this December 2022 and it broke in April 2023 after I dropped it one time on my floor from about 4 feet. I sent it in to Axon for repairs, and they replaced it for free within 3 weeks.Cons:Price- The only technology of value is the projectile cartridges, the gun itself is very delicate and made of cheap plastic. It's worth, on its own, $75 max. There are competitors on Amazon, and I'm sure elsewhere on the Internet, for 1/10th of the price. You're paying for the brand here for sure.Durability- After one short drop, it stopped functioning. I bought a replacement battery on Amazon, and swapped out the cartridge to no avail. I had to go to Axon's Returns website and ship it to them. The frame/gun is not durable. For $400, they needlessly made a delicate product.Capacity- you get one shot. Unlike a handgun or the Byrna SD, you get one shot with the Pulse. If you think that you may be attacked by more than one assailant, you better get a gun (check out the Sig P365 or Ruger LCP II)Pros:Weight- this thing is so light. I have a small 9mm which weighs 5 times as much as this CEW. One of the redeeming factors of the Pulse being made of cheap plastic.Peace of mind- I feel much better letting my wife carry this around than a gun. I don't keep "one in the chamber" in my handgun because of my fear that it will accidentally discharge, but this reduces my ability to react quickly to a dangerous situation. With a Pulse, you merely have to switch off the safety to use the CEW.Legality- In Texas, you cannot (even with a license-to-carry, see Section 46.03 of the Texas Penal Code) bring a gun to a bar, school (including school events such as sports), court building, prisons, hospitals, amusement parks, and some other places. This does not apply to stun guns like Taser (see DPS's website or Section 46.01(3) of the Texas Penal Code). If you're a teacher, this would be one of your only options in terms of self-defense projectiles and definitely the smallest/lightest. And if you're going to bars late at night or in seedy areas, this would also be one of your only options.”
“I regularly check the battery power and cycle the batteries with a fresh set. Just the other day out of nowhere trouble emerged. I went to deploy the Taser Pulse and...... No power!!!!!! 😡I troubleshot the Taser and found that the adhesive broke down between the batteries and this stupid flexible plastic strip with the battery contacts. This provides a false sense of security and will put you in a very bad situation. I expect quality, reliability and dependability on each EDC self defense tool that I carry. Especially when spending $400!!!Be cautious and do not depend on this in a self defense situation! Have a backup plan. Stay safe!”
“Hello there fellow Amazon users. I purchased this item roughly over a year ago with a different Amazon account and I am simply leaving this review for both the seller and any other interested parties in the purchase of this self defense weapon. I have unfortunately been put in a situation in the past where I had to use this very self defense weapon. And all I can say is that it definitely works there is maximum control over the situation after Deployment occurs. The individual being tased will definitely need to be examined by medical afterwards as a law enforcement protocol. Probability of the individual soiling their pants is also very high. But anyway this device is very effective and very real. So, everyone please use extreme caution and safety if you ever plan on actually needing to Deploy it. These weapons may seem like fun toys but after witnessing 1st hand what it can do to someone all I can say is remember safety 1st.”
“I didnt purchase this but i did have one used on me and I'll tell you from personal experience that it works! Dropped me to my knees like a sack of potatoes. I couldn't move or be combative, IF i could legally own one i would! Don't be stupid and you'll never have to go thru having this thing used on you. It works and i would 100% suggest you use this first over taking a life. But if you have to do what you gotta do to make it home to your loved ones.”
