“This tea kicked it out of the park for that full rich malty flavor. If you like malty Assam tea, look no farther. Smooth, rich, full bodied, malty flavored tea....I mean what more could one ask for if that is the taste you like!! I think this tea is completely under rated and it should move out from the shadows and take it's rightful place...out in front of the pack. I have tired many, many Irish Teas looking for that malty flavor and have have been drinking Bewley's Gold for years but this tea was a complete surprise to me and it is not expensive. I am just sorry I waited so long to try it....”
“I bought this brand many years ago from a local shop and have always enjoyed it for a good jump start to my day.
I was pleasantly surprised to be able to purchase it online as it is no longer available where I previously bought it.
This Irish Breakfast Tea blend still packs a bountiful, flavor full punch to begin my day or to re-energize my afternoon.”
“Thompson's / Punjana could do a better job as a company of describing the differences between their tea blends. They describe them all the same way. When I wrote to ask them directly which of their blends had the most characteristics of Kenyan teas, they responded with the same boilerplate about their entire line. Finally (after I'd already ordered this blend) they told me that their Irish Breakfast Tea had the most Assam, but not which had the least. They describe it as their "strongest" blend, probably for that reason. That would explain its characteristics. A bit more astringency and notably more bitterness than blends with more Kenya tea. A good tea if you are an Assam fan.”
