“Thompson's / Punjana could do a better job as a company of describing the differences between their tea blends. They describe them all the same way. When I wrote to ask them directly which of their blends had the most characteristics of Kenyan teas, they responded with the same boilerplate about their entire line. Finally (after I'd already ordered this blend) they told me that their Irish Breakfast Tea had the most Assam, but not which had the least. They describe it as their "strongest" blend, probably for that reason. That would explain its characteristics. A bit more astringency and notably more bitterness than blends with more Kenya tea. A good tea if you are an Assam fan.”
“Support the little guys and buy your tea from Teadog. The brand I bought is a long-time favorite, so my review is more to do with the company than with Thompsons Irish Breakfast tea. Both are excellentnice pairing!”
“Im Irish born & grew up on Irish tea. I have enjoyed Thompson Irish Tea for many years here in the US. it gives me a little taste of home. Thank you Teadog for carrying it.”
“After reading an interview from Thompsons regarding the differences between English, Scottish and Irish breakfast, I was expecting this to be a rich malty cup. Its not much heartier than a typical Ceylon.”
