“Chris and one of his cats gave us a warm welcome as well pulled into the driveway. Our 6 year old grandson immediately felt at home with both cat and Chris... So much so that, while I schlepped our unneeded kitchen sink and other equipment to the campsite, he was taken on a tour and introduced to the wonderful pond that absorbed him throughout his stay.
The dock, the row boat, the fish were this constant (and I mean constant) fixations. Over two days he caught dozens of small fish.
Chris had set up the camp with a wonderful view of a hilly meadow edged with trees. A more serene and comfortable weekend could not have been possible.

“I came here for a girls trip, Chris and his family couldn't have been nicer! He showed us where there were nesting bluejays, let us use his refrigerator in his barn and had extra cots all set up for us. The perfect trip for me and my 4 friends. The lake is perfect for swimming and there is a great dock where you can hangout and put your feet in the water. Super quiet and peaceful, I definitley plan on returning!”
“This was our third Tentrr experience and it was nothing short of amazing. Chris was an exceptional host and the property is beautiful. I slept like a baby listening to the sounds of the night inside our cozy tent. Chris provided tons of fresh spring water, firewood, and provided recommendations on hikes, fishing spots, and things to do in the area. Chris has added unique touches to the campsite - hammock, drapes around the camping toilet, books, and blankets that make the site feel so special. This truly is a perfect place to unwind. We had an absolute dreamy stay in the woods.”

When we got to the campsite, everything was clean and organized. In addition to the supplies listed, we were pleasantly surprised to find a coffee maker, cups, grill, pan, and soap.
After we were settled in, Chris greeted us with wine/beer and walked us around the properly. He answered all our questions and provided great recommendations catered to our interests. Some key highlights:
- Applestone: 24 hr high quality, meat vending machines (so delicious, we came back both nights)
- Tom’s Taxidermy: bait & tackle shop (spoke to the owner who recommended some local fishing spots - ended up catching/eating a trout for dinner)
A few things to note:
- It got surprisingly chilly at night, but the wood burning stove in the tent was incredibly powerful and Chris stocked extra blankets under the bed
- There were a lot mosquitoes and ticks (as you would expect in the woods), so come prepped with bug spray
- Chris was not on the property for part of our trip, but was always available when we called/texted with any questions
Will definitely book another trip at Lothlorien and/or another Tentrr site!”
“Our first experience with Tentrr has us hooked! Chris was the most gracious host. He made us feel so welcome, and his vast local knowledge of places to go, beverages to sample, and things to do were greatly appreciated. If all CampKeepers are like him, we will be Tentrr-ing for years to come. If you're on the fence, book this! You won't regret it. Oh, and during our stay, we won the Halloween Promotional prize that included such fun costumes for all of us -- even our puppy. So thoughtful and neat. So what are you waiting for? “This was our first Tentrr trip and it definitely didn't disappoint! The property was beautiful! It was private and situated overlooking a meadow. There was a also a private trout pond on the property, where my boyfriend fished a couple of times on the floating dock. The tent itself was great and although it was chilly there was a wood burning stove to provide heat. The whole experience was completely relaxing and care free. In addition, Chris was great and made sure we had everything we needed and more! Before we got there Chris gave us suggestions on hikes in the area and once we were there he gave us numerous recommendations on places to fish and restaurants and breweries in the area. It was really the perfect escape from the city and we can't wait to come back!! Thank you again Chris!”
“As a first time Tentrr user the entire process was really seamless. The whole experience struck a nice balance compared to the typical "pitch your own tent" camping.
We had a fantastic time. The property is big enough where the campsite is secluded yet still close walk to the car. Chris was a great host. He helped us set the tent stove and campfire up, got us some delicious steaks and was generous with advice and tips on the area.”
