“This site was nothing short of incredible! Sweeping views and incredible stargazing. It was also great for having electric available and running water. The only reason for 4 stars is that there was no wood or propane stove for heating as is standard for Tentrr, so we had only an electric space heater available. The first night was very cold and the heater didn't do much to help. We had brought along our own flannel blanket and sleeping bag, which we definitely needed as temps dipped to just above freezing with the winds that night. The next night we started the space heater several hours before turning in such that it did lend some warmth. Hopefully the heating situation is resolved now and if so, this is the perfect location for a wknd away in nature. I can only imagine how lovely with the changing of the leaves. The rest of the set up was great, the fire pit, the adirondack chairs, picnic table, etc. The location was also great for exploring the area including Phoenicia, Roxbury and Bovina.”
“Pros: The pictures don't do it justice. A beautiful view. Quiet and secluded.
Cons: The listing mentions a wood stove but there wasn't one. It got particularly cold during our trip.”
“The site is beautifully situated with spectacular views of the valley and hills to the south. The hosts were very communicative but invisible which is great. The camp shower is cold mountain water which will get your mind right.. loved it. Very peaceful at night after the coyotes finish calling to one another...the view of the Milky Way alone is worth the price of admission. It’s worth noting that the site is listed as vehicle accessible but I would suggest a suv. Luckily it was very dry and we gingerly made our way up the long path in a minivan. Also, bringing a canopy or umbrella for hotter months might be a thought as site is fully exposed up there.”
“We had a great time at this Tentrr site--stayed for two nights. Incredible views (as good as the photos show). Amazing to wake up to the fog and clouds lifting above the mountains. And one of the nights we had great star watching experience.
Very private and quiet. The host has even installed a water line so there is tap with running cold water. The tent is sturdy and well constructed. It poured one night and the tent was entirely dry. If I had issue it was the air mattress in the tent, which was really loud if you sat on it or moved around.
Overall, loved the space and would consider returning.”
“Beautiful secluded hilltop site, with all the necessary amenities, & Charles is a friendly & accommodating host. I’ve been twice so far, & look forward to going back.”
“Wow! What a fantastic experience my family and I enjoyed at Andes Escape. The camp site is one of the most beautiful we've come across. You feel as if have a whole mountain to yourself, with nothing but untouched nature as far as you can see. We loved taking a stroll through the fields of wildflowers on the property and watching the clouds roll over the nearby Reservoir. And what could be better than an outdoor shower overlooking rolling hills? The surrounding area is a fun part of the Catskills/Delaware Forest. Tons of great swimming and boating nearby and places to grab good food. Charlie was a wonderful, responsive host full of great information and we couldn't recommend this sport more highly!”
“Great campsite with awesome views in a secluded setting. It came with a lot more than expected for cooking and grilling. I will definitely return one day...”
