“This campsite was amazing! Would absolutely stay again.
The view was great down to the river, and we found the best spot to put our chairs right in the middle of the river and enjoy. The tent was super clean with sheets and pillows- it did get chilly at night so be sure to bring blankets as the site doesn't get a ton of sunlight. The kitchen and sink area was a nice touch to be able to do dishes and keep us out of the elements (though it was the most amazing weather all weekend!!) Firewood was stacked and ready for use so no need to bring any. There is a small hill to walk up/down to get back to the car but we didn't see that as an issue. Can't say enough great things, plus the campkeepers were helpful and always available.”
“Wonderful, as always! We are repeat customers at this site. We love all the amenities, nature trails, wonderful hosts, and the myriad birds and chipmunks. I could lay in my hammock and watch the river flow by all afternoon... see you soon!”
“I highly recommend staying at this site. I can verify everything that other reviewers commented on in terms of the site being well stocked: water, sheets, pillows, lots of wood. In fact, there was a fluke snowstorm when we went last weekend in Mid-May! and despite that we had a great time and were very comfortable. Bill is very nice and brought an extra box of small logs for the wood stove as well as answering questions and giving us directions to the best trails. With all that space to ourselves we were able to let our dog stay off leash the whole time and he had the best time. The layout of the camp is spacious in a good way but still with everything within easy range.”
“Wow,,, that's all I can really say. STAY AT THIS SITE!!! Bill and Paula were incredibly hospitable and really went above and beyond with their site. Beautiful!”
“This was our first Tentrr experience and we were spoiled! This site is extremely well-equipped with firewood, sheets on the beds, pots & pans, utensils and the pop-up tent already pitched. The owners were very attentive and answered all our questions, and they were there to meet us and show us the way to the site. It was a beautiful spot overlooking the river with lots of walking trails. We will return!”
“Couldn’t have had a better experience, the site was perfect! Beautiful hiking trails through the woods and along the stream. Paula gave great directions and recommendations for what to pack. They provided everything we needed, from sheets to paper towels, great fire pit with plenty of fire wood, lantern, bbq, more than what I expected from the list of tentrr supplies. The dome tent was set up behind the canvas tent both with queen air mattresses. There was also a long dog lead which was perfect for our pup. The location is great, near distilleries, state parks and lakes, and hiking. Would definitely love to come back!”
“Check-in was super easy. The tents were huge and the campsite had tons of privacy. The site is steps away from a river where we got to fish and go swimming. Will definitely be coming back with friends. Bill and Paula were great hosts.”
“This was my second visit to HRC East, and both were wonderful. The site overlooks the small river, and there's a great swimming hole at the bottom of the hill.
The site is clean, neat and scenic, there's plenty of firewood for great evening campfires, and both tents are spacious. The second tent even allows the addition of a second twin or full air mattress if you bring one. The sun shower works perfectly. Privacy is absolute and the sounds of nature are wonderful at all times of the day. We saw deer, Bald Eagles and other wildlife along the river. I highly recommend the location, and Paula and Bill are great hosts, very responsive both before and during our visit.
Either bring a camp stove, cook over the fire (there's a grill to put your pots on) or bring charcoal and use the freestanding Weber-type grill.
Red Hook and Rhinebeck are a short drive away, with great shops and restaurants if you want a meal out. There's a Hannaford in Red Hook if you've forgotten anything or have run out of marshmallows! Tentrr is a great way to camp, and we will definitely be back to Hucklebuck again!”
