Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“This was a really cool experience! As someone who lives in the city (Washington, DC) this was the perfect combination of convenience, solitude, outdoorsy activities and nature. The distance from DC is a perfect weekend getaway. My husband and I left after work on a Friday evening and it was really nice to be able to go to a campsite that was already set up and waiting for us. We didn't have to rush to get to our campsite in time to set it all up and cook dinner while there is still daylight - we drove the two hours from DC and stopped for an hour at a winery before we came to the campsite. With Tentrr, everything was ready for us when we got there and it was much easier for us to just get to the campsite and begin our vacation immediately.
The equipment itself was top quality. The tent was really nice and the whole site was very comfortable with good quality camp gear. We brought many supplies and found when we arrived that Page had provided a lot as well just in case we forgot. We were able to shower with hot water and charge our phones in the horse barn, grab firewood that was already chopped for us, and use the little Tentrr loo at the campsite for our toilet needs so we were still not too far from modern conveniences. The barn is a short walk up the hill from the forrest where the tent is set up and Page even provides a cart to carry all of your supplies from your car to the tent.
In addition to the high quality equipment, our host, Page, was incredible! She was very proactive in anticipating our needs and providing for them. Before we arrived Page gave us detailed instructions about where to park, how to get ice and firewood from her, how we could arrange the horse tour, and even gave us recommendations about which wineries to visit on our first night! We started our weekend off with a visit to a winery and were able set up our camp and start a fire quickly when we arrived to the Tentrr site because she had already explained where everything was. The site is also a perfect distance from the road and is nestled in the forrest next to a babbling brook, so we had the quiet and solitude we were seeking for our weekend getaway.
On Saturday we partook in the horseback ride tour through the property on Good Intentions Farm. This was one of the best horseback riding experiences I have ever had! Becky, our guide was an excellent instructor and made us feel very comfortable on the horses, since we are beginner riders. The horses, although they are very large, are very sweet and calm and really easy to work with. As long as we followed Becky's instructions the horses were very easy to ride and responded immediately to our commands. Becky and her boys greeted us right on time for our tour and offered us drinks and helmets for the ride. Her boys are young gentlemen and greeted us like true professionals! The tour itself was a great learning experience - it wasn't just walking in a straight line of horses that already knew the trail. We actually learned how to give commands and got to practice guiding the horse over some challenging terrain. We got to see the property and got to know Becky and the Good Intentions Farm a little better which made the whole experience all the more meaningful.
Overall this site strikes the perfect balance between the rustic getaway we seek when camping the need for convenience and time-saving when we live in a big city without the easy access to remote natural areas. We would definitely stay again and would even take regular horseback riding lessons from Becky, who mentioned that she offers them! If we can find some time again soon to get away from the city we will definitely be back! Thanks Page and Becky and Good Intentions Farm for a great stay!”
