Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“What a lovely, hard working couple running this 300 acre Scottish Highland Cattle farm. The cattle were so interesting and cool - for cattle - great art subjects for painters and photogs! This is a working ranch with all that comes with it, machinery, mud, and some rough edges. But the charm comes from the nooks on the ranch where you can camp and feel you are out in nature without being too far from civilization. Our trip in early April was a bit early if you are not hearty enough to face cold, winds, and mud (4 x 4 required)! However, I imagine in the summer this place blooms with greenery and life. We became acquainted with the resident Ring Neck Pheasant making his rounds. The cattle were as intrigued by our dogs as the dogs were by them. The dogs were allowed to free roam with the campsite partially fenced so they felt they were in a yard - pure heaven for them. Well behaved dogs can also run free on the property with no real worries about harassing the cattle who were clever in how the whole herd could just disappear in the woods if they were scared! The night sky was amazing, the Tentrr had all the necessities for camping, and the tent was cozy with propane heat. What a great place to bring city folk with kids who want to camp in safety, and have the opportunity to learn where their food comes from - both meat and veggies at the ranch's nearby greenhouses. They offered their meat for sale, and my husband says it was delish! You can use the shower or commercial kitchen at the main house if needed, or you can rough it a bit at the campsite - the Darnit Brook site in April had the lullaby of a babbling brook to help you sleep. Good Mainers working hard was a big part of the appeal of this site, as well as nearby farm to table markets. This life is not easy, but camping for a time can give you an appreciation for how hard, but rewarding, this work can be.”

“This is our second year staying here and we loved it even more! The hosts were great and the calm peacefulness of the farm was exactly what was needed to escape from the city. Plenty of suggestions of where to hike or eat in the surrounding area.”
