Tentrr is your private camping experience. We connect adventurers like you with private landowners who want to share their land so you can experience new places.
“Here is reason I put “good and bad” in the title. First of all, the place is perfect. We love the view! The tent is clean. Inside the tent you have a with a comfy full sized bed, side table, a fan, a mini fridge, a lamp, a heater (for cold seasons), a covered trash can, a broom and dustpan. Out side the tent is a picnic table, 2 Adirondack chair on the patio, and also a grill ring/fire pit. But I do recommend to bring your own portable grill if you want to cook your food faster. There is a common bathroom and shower house, but it’s quite a walk. Our first day/night was perfect! But our second day was a nightmare. As we were trying to sleep, around 11 pm, we heard a couple of guys talking nearby, then a like a sound of splashing water. So we thought someone is in the lake on a boat, paddling . That continues for the next couple of hours. So we knew they were just circling close by our tent . Then past 1 am, still going on. We saw they have like a green neon lights on the boat. At this point, we were getting upset as we can’t go to sleep due to the on and off hearing their voices. Then past 2 pm. This is when it got worst . The lights were actually directed towards our tent so it was kinda bright . Me and my husband looked out the window and saw that their boat is parked in front of our tent, therefore their green neon light are shining towards our tent. So when I looked out the window, I said, “hello?!?!” like trying to get their attention. But at this point, my husband has already got so upset and all he can think is we are being harassed by these guys! And with a lot of “crazy people” nowadays, our safety is his most concern of. So he asked me to go ahead and grab our dog, our keys and valuables and we are getting out the site ! As we are getting out of the tent, we saw the boat also leaving. But that didn’t stop us from getting in our suv and left. Yes! this incident scared us that we actually drove off the campground at 2:30 am!!!
Drove to the closest rest area which is about 40 mins drive . As we think this is probably the safest place at that time. So even tho we tried, we couldn’t sleep at all while parked in the rest area. We went back to the campground around 6 am when it’s already daylight . We reported the incident wit the host Steve (who was by the way, so wonderful) and he said he’s going to report it right away to the owner. He told us that he was aware of these guys come every Saturday night to fish in the lake to catch “bass”. But he didn’t like the fact that we’re so close to the campground or in our case our tent . I just wish that were actually got informed of this beforehand and maybe we didn’t think like we were being harassed ?. So this entire incident really messed up our otherwise supposed
to be a very relaxing getaway .
Another negative (which we forgot to report) was one night we were in the bath house, there were 3 boys/kids (2 probably around the age of 7-10, and one looks like a teenager ). As I was inside the shower, I heard a kids open the main door and yelled “hey” . They did twice. My husband witnessed it as he was waiting outside in the car for me. So he actually approached the kids (who ran towards the playground after what they did) to not to do that. So they said ok. So I came out of shower and got in the car. My husband told me hat happened. Then it was my husband turn to go to the men’s shower. And to my surprised ( after my husband already warned them ) they did the same thing! I literally saw them, opened the door, yelled! Then ran to the playground . At this time, the parent in me kicked in. I got out of the car and got close to the playground . I can see them trying to hide. It was a little dark so I can’t see them very clear . With a very firm voice, I told them to stop doing what they just did or I am reporting them and that their parents will be noticed . One of the boy said sorry and will not do it again.
Note to parents: remind your small kids to be kind to other campers.
The date of stay was 8/11-8/13, 2023.”
“Stopped here on a roadtrip from Nashville to Cape Cod and absolutely loved it. Gorgeous views, cozy tent, nice campground bathroom with showers, dog friendly, very sweet and kind camp host. Definitely planning on coming back :)”
“This campsite is beautiful and the accommodations right on target. HOWEVER, the main purpose of this site is the amazing view which was hindered in the sense that the zipper on the screen is missing making it impossible to view the lake from inside the tent without leaving access for bugs or other visitors. I read another review from two months ago mentioning this issue and it has obviously not been addressed. We would return here and highly recommend.”
“Gorgeous setting—seeing all the stars at night and then the mist rising off the water in the morning was magical! Campground restroom with showers is a short walk (less than 5 minutes) from the site.
Communication could be improved—my check-in information email didn’t come through until late the evening of my arrival. Thankfully, there was no special info I really needed.
Would love to return and go kayaking!”
“If you’re in need of a getaway to unplug, BOOK IT! The tent is literally steps away from the lake with a gorgeous sunset. If you don’t have your own paddle board or kayak you can rent one to explore the lake. The hiking trails are a nice walk with views of different parts of the lake. Although the listing shows an outside toilet/shower, it wasn’t setup. So that’s the only real negative, the campground bathrooms/showers are about at 3 min walk which can feel like forever when you really have to go!! Lol”
“If you love waterfront and camping, it does not get any better than this! Michael was a great host and was close by if I needed anything. The campsite is very private and it is beautiful.”
