We had an amazing stay. The whole campsite was for ourselves: a luxury tent to sleep, a tent with screens to sit, a campfire place, an outside kitchen (and an additional tent for sleeping we did not use). The campsite is quite, and still close to the main road. Jay was extremely helpful. Due to a mistake on my end, I booked for the wrong dates. So we ended up staying 1 night at the Stonecutters Ledge and he setup a nearby camp just for us for another night to help us out - also with a supplies we needed. That was extremely kind. Big thumbs up!

Stonecutters Ledge was a thoughtfully equipped and beautiful location (the photos on this listing don't do it justice)! Our group of six had an absolutely wonderful time at the site, walking the loop paths that began directly at the site, and hiking around/swimming in nearby Onteora Lake. When a couple of our group members' usually timid dog discovered her wild side in the woods and ran away from us one morning, Jay wrote all the neighbors in the area to keep an eye out for her, and called to check in on us while we were searching for her. In the end she was found and returned to us within a couple of hours. Could not have asked for a more kind and caring host. Thanks for everything, Jay, we really appreciate it!

We had an awesome trip to Stonecutters Ledge, the campsite had everything you could need and more to enjoy a weekend in the woods with all the amenities. Nearby running water, electricity, and lots of activities and cute towns nearby. Jay was a generous and fantastic host, extremely responsive, and ensured that we had the best time. I would definitely come back again!

Great experience. We came late in the season when the weather was brisk, but the tent was quite warm as long as we kept a log in the stove. The location was remote enough to feel like "real" camping, yet close enough to civilization to drive 10 minutes to pick up extra firewood or BBQ takeout. The site was well-stocked and well-kept, and Jay is an experienced, gracious, and attentive host.

We had a fun time at this site, Jay was a great host! The site is really close to tons of hiking options and only a short drive from the New York City area. We'll definitely return to this site again!

A hidden leafy paradise that lets you feel away from civilization while still being close enough to it for a hot coffee or some great barbecue! We arrived at night on the Friday, and Jay not only lit the lanterns and put up the second tent for us, but was also out on the country road with a light to show us which path to go down! The camp was stocked with everything we needed, including the most impressive fire pit I've ever seen... with a fire of course already roaring thanks to Jay! Having arrived in the night it seemed super remote and miles from anything, all we could see was what was lit up from the torches, but after a calm, quiet night's sleep we woke up to a fall wonderland! The composting toilet is definitely an adjustment, but one thing that needed no adjustment was the beautiful surroundings, peaceful open air and fresh, crisp, colorful leaves. Thank you Jay for everything. We'd absolutely visit this site again.

Stonecutteres Ledge was such a lovely place. It was close enough to the city that it wasn't too much of a trek, but it was also far enough away that we felt like we were able to truly relax. Jay was super responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed. We were so impressed by the setup and how much firewood he left for us!
