Such an amazing spot with so much space and an awesome tent!

It was what was advertised. Absolutely nothing special. The wood stove in the tent didn't work out well. The tent was too small to easily cook on it and the stove was too small to provide reasonable, usable heat for sleeping. Had the weather not been awful while we were there, it probably would have been a lot better.

Lovely spot close to Acadia National Park. It felt nice to be away from all of the crowds on Mt Desert Island after a long day of exploring the park. The views of Acadia from the site and from the harbor just down the hill were stunning. The bath house on the grounds was well-maintained and the outhouses closer by were fine in a pinch. The wood stove in the tent was great for when the temps dropped at night and took the damp out. Very cozy. We would love to come back. One thing: do beware, all ye light sleepers, as the reviews are true about the mattresses: they are fairly squeaky. It didn’t bother us too much, but lighter sleepers may have trouble with the setup. Also, no dome tent available despite the Tentrr description. (Not necessary for our trip, but heads up in case you are expecting an extra tent.)

Location was great - nicely secluded from the state park campsites.

This is a terrific option for those looking to car camp. The location is magnificent, there is ice and firewood available to purchase onsite, and there are numerous trails throughout the park. We had a great stay.

Overall everything was as expected. The views from the tent site were incredible, especially at sunset. Privacy was okay, sometimes people would walk by as there is a trail right by the site. The wooden stove was a MAJOR plus. It’s important to keep in mind that Acadia National Park is 45minutes a way not just “minutes” away. So plan accordingly. There is a lot to do around and people are very friendly. Our dog loved that she could roam around! Please make sure you do bring bed sheets as the mattress is very dirty. It is also VERY loud. Mattress is bigger than the bed therefore it rubs against the wood with every move and makes major noise - not for light sleepers. The guests before us also left some garbage and stuff in the storage which brought some bugs over. My only suggestion for the host is to make sure the site is clean between guests.

Lamoine State Park was beautiful and we loved our stay there. However, we had booked under the impression that there would be one bed. When we got there, there were bunk beds. We then checked to find the photos showing the single queen sized bed was removed from the listing. Minor inconvenience, not a major issue. Keep in mind this is still about a 45 minute drive to Acadia. We still enjoyed ourselves, but making sure we had enough time in Acadia was difficult. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway, this was certainly a beautiful stay, and had some amazing sunrises/sunsets on the lake.
