“If you're looking for a place like this... This is it.
EXTREMELY secluded campsite next to a meadow.
Glamping made accessible. The tent felt very safe and dry even in the dramatic thunderstorm we had go right overhead. The Air mattress felt fine when we got into bed but we woke up on the wooden frame a few hours later. The pop up tent latrine was... fine. A definite luxury for outdoorsy folks. Good starter for those who are more indoorsy. mind the spiders.
$10 for a BIG stack of wood. They are very generous and will definitely keep a fire going.
The facilities and property was very impressive, well made, and quaint
*What broke the experience for us was the bugs!!!
So
Many
Bugs
My Eagle Scout, Scoutmaster fiance noted that this was the most buggy place he's ever camped at.
I had on LAYERS 60% Deet and STILL got over ten mosquito bites.
We zipped everything up in the tent and still woke up with ants next to us on the night stands - even without any food.
A bee got in our car (thank God for electric fly swatters)
And our camp fire became a magnet for every moth and flying bug around.
The bugs were absolutely overwhelming
There WAS however the most fireflies we've ever seen so that was beautiful.
I get it. You are LITERALLY in the middle of no where. You could not get any more NATURE than this. And we came at the end of june which I am sure is peak time for all these critters
None of my bug complaints should be taken as a negative reflection of the owners.
Future Campers!
Bring
60-100% deet.
MULTIPLE bug zappers.
electric fly swatter.
lighter
car chargers for your phone
I will end on a good note
an adorable porcupine crossed our path while driving. it stopped, looked both ways before crossing the road, and scurried away. it was a 5 star polite-porcupine experience. We named him Chuck.”
“The dome was a great place to camp!
The tent and all the amenities made it very easy to just get to camping
James was great and made sure everything was ready for us when we arrived.
The property is off the beaten path and is very quiet and peaceful.
Great Pond was fabulous, we kayaked and fished and it is easy in and out to Acadia.
Thanks James and thanks Tentrr!”
“An amazing camping experience, late in October, the wood burning stove made everything warm and cozy. The site was completely isolated and quite. Not like camping at a crowded campground. About 15 minutes drive to the nearest town and an hour to Bar Harbor. We paid for wood and the host provided us with just enough for each night. I'd supplement the wood with a few extra logs from the grocery, especially if you wanted to make coffee and breakfast in the morning.”
“I stayed here with my wife and 6 year old son. It was just what we wanted. Jim was very helpful and welcoming. The site was clean and prepared for us. We highly recommend this site if you’re looking for a great camping experience.”
