“What a fantastic spot!! The Tentrr site is truly private and relaxing! Everything that was promised was there and ready. It rained a LOT prior to arrival so the wood was wet. I texted the owner and he came to the rescue with some extra dry wood to help get things going. We loved feeding the sheep the following morning! You can hear the highway very faintly but it didn’t bother us at all. The first night was pretty cold (the stove wasn’t putting out a lot of heat) but I cleaned out a lot of ash from it and the second night was super toasty!! I would highly recommend a visit to this location. We had a fantastic time!”
“I stayed at Holmestead woods for 3 nights, and let me say it was such an incredible experience. The hosts Jason and Adrienne were very sweet, didn't get the chance to meet them in person, just waved from a safe distance (covid safety) but they were always so quick to respond to calls/texts regarding any questions about our stay. They were extremely accommodating, they provided us with lots of things to make our stay very comfortable. The campsite itself was beautiful, it was a good distance away from the house so there's privacy on both ends. The sheep are really cute but shy, they don't bother anyone they just do their sheep things! The campsite had everything you need, from kitchenware to utilities and water. You have a great surrounding of woods near you, but remember you'll be in the shade constantly so dress warm during fall/winter! Finding the location was easy and it was located in a place that was an easy drive. Overall my friends and I had such an amazing experience. Definitely light up the fire at night, it's apart of the experience! I highly recommend this place. Thank you, Jason and Adrienne!”
“I wanted an easy trip from Manhattan and this is as easy as it gets! Jason the CampKeeper keeps the site pretty well stocked with plates, cups, etc.. thus you can carry even less gear than you thought. Hiking is available right from the site therefore you could do this trip without a car (as I did) using the Metro North train from Grand Central. Jason is super responsive and will answer all your questions. As an added bonus there are sheep in the field you walk through to get to the camp site and if you discuss with Jason you can feed them right from your hands which was fun for me being a city boy. My only negative comment is that there is the sound of distant traffic on the highway but compared to anything I hear in Manhattan this was easily overlooked. I will definitely return to Homestead Woods!”
“We loved our stay! We had our own private slice of nature to relax in. It was a beautiful location. The host provided plenty of wood for the fire. Easy to get to - it was only a $10 Uber from the train station. Definitely planning on going back.”
“We had a really nice stay at James’ and Adrienne’s place. The site was clean and had everything we needed. The tent fit 4 of us comfortably. There was plenty of firewood also. We made sure to take some time to enjoy laying in the field with our sheep friends. We had a great time and I’m excited to try other Tentrr sites!”
